Looks like LFC will get a good crushing tonight. A very weak starting eleven...

    Doni
    Flanagan
    Kelly
    Kyrgiakos
    Robinson
    Degen
    Poulsen
    Shelvey
    Insua
    Cole
    Carroll

    and the bench isn't reassuring

    Kuyt
    Ayala
    Aquilani
    Spearing
    Jones
    Wisdom
    Coady

There's speculation that Downing, Henderson and Adam etc. are being saved for the Vålerenga match on monday.

They were destroyed by Galatasaray, but considering the lineup that's not a surprise.

Don't understand why we even played the match. If we start with a horrible starting line-up where many of the players obviously have no future at our club, and we arguably had only two or three first team players then what's the point?

    Meh, whatever.

It seems Kenny wanted to give them a chance to prove they are worthy of wearing the Liverpool jersey, and that's good because he knows he can't count on them now + no damage was done since it was a friendly.

They kinda proved it last year and in the friendly at Hull IMO...

But Joe Cole promised he would play well .
It's like that situation where Juventus got rid of Trezeguet who was a proven goalscorer only because Amauri said he would be great that season for Juventus... and he ended up scoring 0 goals for Juve .
One must not believe such players, especially when you know they are going to fail. Although in this case no damage was done.

Watching Arsenal vs Boca Jr. Gervinho seems like a massively great buy. Strong, quick and skillful.

Unfortunately the back four is still as sad as ever.

Gervinho and Hazard were the ones that gave Lille the french league. Both of them are amazing and Arsenal did a great buy there, but seeing that they will most likely lose Fabregas = Nasri will take his place in midfield they will need another winger simply because Walcott is injury prone and Arshavin doesn't cut it anymore (although both of them could be super subs).

Rumors say that Arsene wants to buy Mata from Valencia and Jagielka from Everton and I must say that both of them would be great buys.

The thing is Arsenal NEVER had a problem scoring goals. Their total football demands all their players to be capable of making goals.

Their problem is in the back. They need a Vidic.

I dont think Jagielka is good enough though. I think Samba would fit the bill more. Him and Vermaelen would make Arsenal's defence like a steel wall.

Arsenal lost the Emirates Cup today and got booed off the field after a 1-1 tie with the New York Red Bulls, whose 1-0 victory over PSG the other day gave them the trophy.

Firstly, only Barcelona play total football. Arsenal do not.

Secondly, I don`t think their main problem is the lack of a CB, it`s more the lack of a leader. Yes they are definitely lacking in the CB department but if they had a strong leader, whether he be a mid or even a striker, they would do a lot better during crunchtime.

Wenger needs to go IMO, he is stubborn and can`t discipline and motivate his players enough. He can`t instill a winning mentality into them like Sir Alex Ferguson does. When you blow a 4-0 lead in a soccer match, there is something wrong mentally.

It was painful to watch how much the MLS has destroyed Thierry Henry. The guy has totally lost all of it.
