    Default Domus Furius

    Domus Furius

Flavius Furius Fusus Brenianus is my name, I'm an adopted Patrician who was recently appointed a senator!
I was adopted by Flavius Furius Fusus, a former senator, after being granted citizenship.
You see, I was a Celt from Northern Italy, but was captured and sold into slavery at the age of ten. My real name is Brennus. My master, Flavius granted me freedom, and I then joined the army.

At the age of 29 I retired from military service, and was granted citizenship for my glorious battles against Greeks, Poeni, and even other Celts. I am now a senator, trying out politics for the first time at the age of 31.

    • Appearance:
Tall, at 6 feet, 2 inches, and muscular, for being in the army for 10 years. Flavius is pale, with flaming red hair and a large red Celtic mustache covering most of his face.
    • Political Beliefs:
Not sure, as I have not been in the Eternal City for a while, but I am willing to find allies and join them in pursuit of Roman Glory. Muaaahahahh!!

    • Family Tree
Flavius Furius Fusus Brenianus (32)-Lucia Geminius Alba(31)
    Children: Tiberius Furius Bibaculus(4)

Flavius spends his time eating and drinking on the steps of his Domus.

    • Relations
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
  2. Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Spurius Horatius Lurco- Flavius does not know what to think of Lurco, as he upholds good and solid ideals, but sometimes side with Scaeva
Marcus Atrius Merula- Flavius admires Merula, as he is one of the few senatos that overlooks Flavius' mustache
Faustus Neavius Imperious- Flavius does not like or dislike this man, as he upholds good ideals, but is very militaristic and does not understand the term "Peace"
Lucius Valerius Poplicola- Flavius does not know what to think of this senator, as he is not hotheaded like everyone else in the Senate, but Flavius believes he is a potential ally
Aulus Licinus Caldius- Flavius strongly dislikes this dirty plebian, but has to work with him to get other senators to see the truth
Caiaus Geminius Dives- THis senator is new, but Flavius thinks of him as a spoiled brat
Spurius Geminius Scaeva- Flavius believes that Scaeva is smart, but jumps the gun to often. Flavius also dislikes his constant trading with Carthaginians
Servius Muncius Septimus- Flavius believes this man argues with him for attention. Flavius also thinks that some shady stuff might be going on in his domus...

    The Domus
Domus Furius is a small house, resembling a cleaned up Plebian home. There is a large wheat field in the back, which takes up most of the property. Inside, there are several maps, and various weopens that Flavius owns. In the back, there is a shrine to the Celtic god Lug. While that would be it in most homes, there is a distillery in the basement. It is HUGE, and every drop of beer in a fifty mile radius of Rome is either made by Fusus Central, or one of their smaller distilleries spread across Rome.

A messenger arrives bearing a message:

    To the people of Rome,
I wish to meet you since, in my absence, I have not learned the names of any members of the Senate or Plebeians. Thus, I wish you to come to my feast, two days hence, and introduce yourself. I would be honored to meet you.
    -T. Ambrosius Varus
"However," he continues, "due to your recent arrival, my master's feast is actually today if you would like to attend." With a bow, he turns on his heel and leaves.

Flavius slips outside into the warm summer sun and plays Oboe to the wind, with a gorgeous sound, and eats about 12 pigs, 4 cows, 1 sheep, and a couple kegs of beer.

Marcus Sempronius Sophus arrives at the domus of senator Brenianus. His slave knocks heavily at the door and when someone opens it he starts to speak. 'Greetings, my master Marcus Sempronius Sophus, senator of Rome, wishes to speak to your master about business.'

As always, Marcus observes the house. A modest house, it looked tidy. He had done some research on the person he was visiting, he was a Celt, you didn't see those quite often in Rome. So he had done some great things to receive citizenship and even being adopted by a patrician. And from what he heard the man liked food. Alot. He liked that.. And he definitely needed more allies for the upcoming elections.

Flavius opened the door, looking to see who it was
Greetings, Marcus! Flavius exclaimed Why have you come to my small domus when more interesting things may be happenening behind Scaevas closed doors?
Before he could answer, a slave came and poured them both goblets of wine, and brought out a plate with cheese and smoaked boar
Please, eat, and then we talk Flavius said, and the slave retreated back indoors

Marcus was glad he had not eaten too much at home. The cheese and boar looked tasty and after eating and drinking a bit he spoke.

'I care not much for what happens behind Scaeva's doors, instead I only care for my own business and that of my dear friends. As my slave already said, I am here for business. Next term I want to run for consul. I have already had one term as quaestor and I was lucky that my opponent is generally hated in the senate. I don't think I will be that lucky when I go for consul so that is the reason why I am now gathering support. I heard you in the senate and I have seen you and I could use your support.'

He observed Flavius his orange hairs.
'A Celt like you, having received Roman citizenship must have done many special things. Which is another reason why I visited your place, you are one out of a million. But anyways, what do you say? Would you like to see Sophus as consul?'

It would be much better than Scaeva and Corvenus combined, I must say.
    Flavius drank some wine
Slave, bring some Celtic beer outside
Flavius turned back to his companion
I would most definetely support you, and an ally would be helpful. I was planning of running for Quaestor, myself. If we could get elected, the positions would not be all be held by Scaeva and his cronies. I have a good knowledge of numbers, mostly from my underground beer buisness, where I get nearly all of my income (11.3 talents a year)
    Flavius thought deeply
What do you think of Praetor Poplicola? He is a wild card in the next election, my gut tells me.
    Flavius waited for Marcus' response

Good, he had a vote. Now something in return and he was done. Luckily the Celt was ambitious.

'Quaestor eh? I think like the last two years Caldius will try to go for quaestor again. Nobody really likes him so if you do some proper campaigning you can easily get the position. Obviously you got my vote, it's the least I could do in return for your support.'

Marcus thought about Poplicola, the man was not a fool.. And quite restless too, the past years he had not served one term as a regular senator..

'I have no idea what Poplicola would be doing, maybe he would even run for consul again. I think he likes the consular chair.. Perhaps he will not be his restless usual self and just be a senator for one term. I don't consider that very likely though..'

Thank you, friend, please take this gift
Flavius handed Marcus a medium sized pouch filled with coins
Hopefully this will give you funds for campaigning

How kind.. If he only knew how much mnai I have..

'No my friend, that is not necessary. Please, keep your money to enlarge your beer business. I am just fine. Now if you excuse me..' He stands up and grabs a final piece of smoked boar. 'I will be off again, thanks for your support Flavius. We will meet again!'

He walks out of the mansion, followed by his slave.
