Of these facts there cannot be any shadow of doubt: for instance, that civil society was renovated in every part by Christian institutions; that in the strength of that renewal the human race was lifted up to better things-nay, that it was brought back from death to life, and to so excellent a life that nothing more perfect had been known before, or will come to be known in the ages that have yet to be. - Pope Leo XIII
Well if playing FOE, I suggest the Keltoi. I'm playing a campaign with them and it is really fun and chlalenging. Your proximity to rome will mean war is inevitable
When i play gaul, or Keloti, I get an army and capture europe. Rome had a few skirmishes with me(they are attacking a settlement, I retake it, back and forth of that) but no all out war though. Now, I have been trying to capture Spain, problem with me is that the other citys in that area just won't stay tamed -.- Also, I keep losing a city after I capture one, Gaul just get too little money, so I have to leave a few undefended![]()
Epirus early on is interesting to play.
You have to shuttle your elite army around if you don't want to cede territory. Battles become critical, and not just in terms of win-lose, but also minimizing loses.
However, once you beat either Carthage in Sicily or Rome, Epirus' crack roster, great trade revenue and limited borders allows you to steamrole easily through Gaul, Iberia and N. Africa.

6.5 or 5.5 I thinkIt can't be 7.5, because 7.0 never came out and we are making VII right now

I suggest trying RTRVII and taking the Celtiberians, the Getai perhaps? Or maybe even Epirus, its a very challenging campaign.
