siege crash

i downloaded the game and i love it
everything works perfect except one thing

when a settlement is besieged,and the battle loads as i am going to defend it
it just...crashes /black screen
(i dont got this when i attack and besiege city's btw)

does any1 know how to fix this?

If your trying to do a custom siege Battle there is a know glitch but its easily fixed try this :

1. Select Custom Battle from the game menu
2. Select settlement level: Fort
3. Change settlement culture to Men
4. Select your desired settlement level
5. Proceed

its in the third age campaign ,not custom battle like the hornbridge or pellenor fields
if thats what you mean with custom battle

Some seige defence CTDs are caused by the advisor. Turning it off doesn't work. You have to "kill" it. Here's how:
