Default If there was One God and you managed to acquire his powers, would you create heaven?

Allow me to propose a hypothetical scenario.

Let us say that, for the purpose of this scenario, there is a God. There is but One God. And there is a heaven. Without God's permission, and through some freak occurrence, you manage to attain all the powers and capabilities attributed to this one God. Keeping in mind that this would defy the will of God, and that heaven has particular entry requirements, would you then create heaven on Earth?

    Discuss.

What does the creation of "heaven on Earth" entail? Is this 'heaven' a mystical realm where one attains everlasting life, or a societal utopia?

Also, would you possess the powers of this One God forever, or would you become mortal after deciding whether or not to create heaven?

Everlasting Life, anything you could possibly want, the whole shebang.

And you are Immortal, Omniscient, etc.

    In that case:

I would create a heaven after death; one would become immortal upon entry, and heaven would be a societal utopia in which everyone's desires were fulfilled. However, one's desires and actions must be in conformance with Christian morality. If one committed an act/desire that was against the set morality, they would be reincarnated back on earth as a child and start life over. The offender would have no memory of heaven or its workings.

I'd use my almighty powers to enslave the Universe!

Not really. I would create a Heaven on Earth, "the whole shebang" as you called it, without hesitation or second thought.

Personally (in my assumed perfection) I would circumvent the necessity for the concept of "Heaven" and simply make reality itself perfect. I wouldn't force my imperfect (interesting that a perfect being is even capable of creating imperfection) creations to meet my impossible standards for the reward of eternal perfection, as the Judeo-Christian god supposedly does. This would undoubtedly make me a sadist, and would undermine my supposed perfection.

One has to question, though, why a perfect being would deign to create anything at all...

I would use my powers to solve a few thing here and there(maybe solving the current financial crisis and finishing the arab dictatorships giving lonely people a way to satart meeting new friends) but nothing major.

I'd probably go insane and destroy myself taking all all space, time and existence with me in practice.

If I had all the powers and characteristics of the One True God, wouldn't I be the One True God?

In any case the first thing I'd do is get rid of the ol' bastard. That guy is crazy. I don't trust him.

Well, to be honest I would first use my apparent full powers to create a varied afterlife, so that all good people, regardless of creed can have a great afterlife, where they can visit each other.

On Earth, I would periodically kill off the worst offenders, in order to eventually darwinize humanity into a race of kind, caring people, with no need for evils, such as slavery or hard drugs.

To be quite honest, I'd also make my consciousness complex enough to understand anything i'd need to know, but not know everything at once, as that would make me lose sight of what is important. There would be a long process of human evolution, but in the end life would be better for everyone as a result. Though I admit by posting in this thread I am likely going to be punished if there is a next life as described by the Torah/Bible.

Killing off the 'worst offenders' of society would have as much impact on the human race as law enforcement does today; except your method is much more extreme. You may punish the human race as much as you like, but there will always be those who choose to commit 'morally wrong' actions.

You would have to eliminate the option of free will entirely to reach the end you wish to achieve.

That is something I wouldn't ever do. My goal would be gradual. If I had the powers of God I would technically live forever. It would take thousands of years, if not tens of thousands, but hopefully I would somehow succeed

The notion of committing 'immoral actions' is not a trait the human race can simply "outgrow". If there is a choice between good and evil; there will always be some who choose evil.

You would have to eliminate the choice of good and evil (free-will) for humanity to become the perfect people you desire them to be.

Well then they remain unperfected. I would refuse to strip free will from any sentient being.

Create a paradise on earth while setting up the afterlife with a Reincarnation setup based on how one lived in my world.

But base it on Roger Zelazny's Amber books. Or maybe PJH's World of Tiers.
