We still oppose the Hapsburg Containment Alliance! They couldn't even contain Ireland, let alone all of us!

Rules of the Grand Coalition

• If a member is attacked, all other members must give military assistance if requested.
• Territorial distribution will be decided by the members of the Coalition involved in a particular war. Example: Spain and Austria attack France. If Spain deploys 4 regiments ,while Austria 3 Spain will take more land over Austria. The deployed Regiments is in proportion with the territorial distribution. Member with 3 Regiments will take 3 times more land than member with 1 Regiment involved.
• Alliance with an enemy of the Coalition or declaring war on a member of the Coalition will result in dismissal of the Grand Coalition and a casus belli.

Should the entire Coalition declare war on the entire Hapsburg Containment Alliance?
The HCA has made it their goal to eliminate the Hapsburg family. Many of their members are already engaged in wars with Spain and Austria, and others have declared their intent to annex parts of Poland, Russia, and Denmark.

Austria votes yes.

Things needing resolving:

1. War declaration vote. See above. I think it would be better if we gave the option a member of not declaring war (should this pass), if they had good reason.

2. The British situation. The Scots are our enemies, the Irish our friends, and the English our enemies' enemy as well our enemy. We could support Tyrone, which would weaken England, but possibly lead to a Scottish or French invasion. We could support England, which would weaken Scotland, but Austria and Spain are at war with England. Or we could do nothing and hope things work out in our favor. What should we do?

3. Brandenburg and Venice. They are getting bigger and are near us. While neither is particularly hostile or friendly with us, we might want to consider signing non-aggression pacts with them, or even inviting them to the Coalition. Thoughts?

Keep in mind that the interests of the Coalition should come before our own national interests, except if national security is in danger.

I'd say that we should invite Brandenburg to join our Glorious Coalition.

Invite Brandenburg to join us or make a non aggression pact, Denmark-Norway and their possessions vote yes for the declaration of war, this makes the decision pass as the missing vote won't change anything.

Declaration of war on the HCA passes. All members must declare war on France, Scotland, the United Provinces, Sweden, and the Ottoman Empire; or give reasons for not doing so.

I've made a map of our situation, also I would like to suggest that we invite Tyrone to the alliance.

The margravite of brandenburg accepts the invitation into the Grand Coalition. I think it is best for everyone given my geographic situation.

Also, has anyone had contact with venice? Is there nany danger of attack from that front? As for britian, the Irish are our only friends on the islands, so if we support anyone I think it should be them. We could always let the british and scottish massacere each otherand hope that works out well for us.

Austria votes not to invite Venice, since the other members apparently have reasons against it. I will attempt to negotiate a NAP between my country and Venice though.

Herm, just something I've noticed, since we now have a pair number of members votes can end in a draw, maybe we should elect a Kind of Emperor (like the Holy Roman Emperor) that would have the power to tie those votes?

What you're saying would make this a union instead of an alliance, so we'd probably have to put that to vote
