    Default Ancient World: Total War

    I have an idea for a Total Conversion MOD for Rome Total War. The general idea is to stretch the map to include two factions from India and two factions from China, and one general nomadic barbarian faction. The mod would replace 6 civilization from Rome Total War:

    House of Julii = Roman Republic
    House of Brutii = Chinese Faction #1
    House of Scipii = Indian Faction #1
    Britons = Chinese Faction #2
    Armenians = Indian Faction #2
    Scythians = Nomadic Barbarian

    The map could look something like this. More research has to be done to find out which two kingdoms from china and india would be the best to replace those factions, and where they are located. The nomadic regions/province between china, india and europe could be huge provinces.

    Ruff Draft of how the map could look:

    Orange: Nomadic Faction
    Yellow: Roman Republic
    Red: Indian Faction #1
    Green: Indian Faction #2
    Blue: Chinese Faction #1
    Purple: Chinese Faction #2

    It's more of a "What if" type mod while keeping to "Realism" as possible. It would be fun to have a battle between China and Rome, or China and India.

    well at the time o the roman empire, china was united under the han. they actually sent emmisaries over to the parthian empire and i think some reached the roman controlled part o the mid east.

    for this idea you would need:
    china faction: han
    indian: Gupta empire (northern India)
    Indian 2 (southern): Chola dynasty?
    Persian: parthian empire
    Roman empire of 2nd century AD
    Germanic tribes of northen europe (possibly several factions)
    Numidians
    Huns (they would be closer to china at 2nd century AD, as they were pushed west by the han and arrived in rome 200 years later)
    Turkic tribes
    Saramatians
    Alans
    Arabs
    possible rebel china and rebel rome factions

    This idea is great and id love to see it done. it would only work during the period form 100-300 ad or so when both the roman empire and han were at their peaks. India is not much of a factor at this point as the Mauryan dynasty is gone and after that wasnt a big player. I would focus also on the parthian empire and the many steppe factions at the time such as the husns and proto-turks.

    Good luck.

    We would only have to mod 6-7 civilization in the game since most of the ones in Europe, Northern Africa and Middle East could stay the way it is. We could just stretch the map and include 2 from India, 2 or 3 from China and maybe 2 nomadic civilization.

    It's just a problem: from now on, all mods have a time limit (till september or october) until M2TW appears. Un happy to say, but all RTW or bi mods will have become out of the people's interests by then...

    Yeah you're right. Maybe I should wait until M2TW comes out and mod that instead within the timeframe of midieval (1100-1500?). There will be 30 civilizations. I'm pretty sure we can replace some of the least important civilizations in the game to include Eastern civilizations. Maybe stretch the map all the way to Japan.

    Every mod needs skinners...
    I can remember all these voices saying that every modder has the right to start his own project, even if other mods need help, even if other mods' concepts are more or less similar.
