Forced Diplomacy
Hi really loving your mod its has been an epic eastern roman campaign..but how do i force diplomacy, the AI is so over the top aggressive its silly, i am at war with every single faction, yet i only declared war with the turks. i want to be able to force diplomacy to get some of the western christians to at least have peace with me its more realistic.
i tried diplomatic_stance etc but it said command not recognized yet the game uses it??

Re: Forced Diplomacy
Hi! Which AI did you select in the SS_setup?? The Lusted's AI is for a more peaceful campaign!

Re: Forced Diplomacy
i chose the third option, said alliances last and Ai wasn't too aggressive
i didn't choose the peace one because i didn't know how the ai would respond to war, ie i dont want to steam roll the map

Re: Forced Diplomacy
funny thing with AI is, in the beginning, when you are weak, they view you as easy prey and when you finally catch up to them, then you are considered a threat and they got a new reason going after your lands. so they always attack when bordering your lands unless u have an alliance.
another reason they are biased towards the player and expect constant gifts much like the pope unless you are their ally.

Re: Forced Diplomacy
Some commands won't work when called from the ingame console. I believe this should be one of them. Forced diplomacy is currently not a part of SS.

Re: Forced Diplomacy
It is not worth paying for peace. If you could force diplomacy maybe but your best option is raid and then give back city you captured for peace. It is likely to be only temporary but at least it gives you time to focus on others. ERE can't get Crusaded so do what you have to with the catholic kingdoms but focus on Anatolia is easiest since you only face 1 faction there while Greece and the Balkans bring you into contact with Hungary, Kiev, Venice, Sicily, and sometimes HRE/Genoa.

Re: Forced Diplomacy
Your reputation also has effect. If u slay and destroy everyone and everything and get a bad reputation everyone will attack u. If u act chivalriously and get immaculate reputation u can get peace easily.
