    Default Perfect Politcs Possible?

Does anyone think that in the future or in the past perhaps, there will be or has been a perfect gouvernment? I mean one that if given the chance would last a very long time. There have been a number of systems in the past. Empires but they ALWAYS collapse or fall apart. Communists- "Everyone is equal but some are more equal than others" From Animal Farm. When communisim was invented, it seemed like a good idea. Equal pay, equal lifestyle and so on. But then people started realising that this wasn't exactly fair. Then the greeks invented democracy which in world history seems to work fairly well, but it is prone to corruption. Any Canadains who have paid attention to Jean Chriten know what I mean. So does anyone think there will be a perfect political system in the future or will we be condemed to what we currently have?

Limited intelligence, limited resources, avarice and pure bloodymindedness of politicians will always get in the way.

Obviously. There are always greedy people in the world prone for power. In the communist system, one person is suppose to organize the state and then step down from power. Easier said than done. That is where greed comes in. I wouldn't know what it would be like, being in such a situation. having control of a country and then stepping down. By the way, I like your use of the word bloodymindedness.

Well you know any excuse to use it really.

It also comes down to limited resources. If we had star trek style replicators, food is abundant, technology is free, clean power. I don't know maybe though I doubt it, people would still feel the need to regulate and legislate and because of that you get corruption. Power corrupts.

Absolute omnipotent Dictator is the only way that seems possible. The closest thing we've got is enlightened monarchies which really didn't work out too well. I think the perfect form of government at the moment is impossible.

Never. People will always be organizing opposition groups to the ruling power, be it democratic or dictator. People will always oppose the power.

You can get so everybody is happy and equally represented, but never trully perfect

Is there the possibility at all that the world will have a fair non-corrupt political system or is it liek the meaning of life. There never wil be or is an answer?

Of course not, because everyone would disagree over what a perfect government is.

No, I dont think that there will ever be a perfect government. Simply because there will always be those who resist, who will not cooperate with whatever government is put on them. For example, and not to pick on anyone or be offensive, consider communism. Communism would be, in essence and on paper, the perfect government. But, because humans are greedy and prideful, communism simply doesnt work. I think there is no possible way to have a perfect utopian government, just because we aren't perfect ourselves.

Not to mention if communism was established by a series of flukes, there would be people yearning for an unregulated free market and claiming that that;s the perfect system.

We will probably destroy the planet before we get anywhere near a "perfect" government. Besides that, we will more than likely regress in governmental forms, rather than agress.

Politics will never be perfect. It's a system based upon arguement and can not be perfect.

I think it is on Spartacus-Popat's signature.
And I don't think that perfect politics is possible because we would have nothing to talk about in the mudpit then would we....
There can only be 'perfect' politics when power does not corrupt and when every one agrees. Two things that will unfortunatly never happen....
