Does anyone know the actual factors adjusted and by what magnitude for the varying difficulties in MTW2?
Extra money for the AI, harder diplomacy, extra troop morale, damage, armor, etc..?

The Campaign Difficulty affects the following:
- Faction reputation normalization. On the easiest difficulty, your reputation automatically goes up slightly each turn. On the hardest difficulty, it goes automatically goes down slightly each turn. The lower your reputation, the more likely you'll be attacked.
- The AI's king's purse (money automatically received each turn). The difference is coded into the campaign script.
- Whether the AI uses mercenaries. Below a certain difficulty, the AI doesn't recruit mercenaries.
- The public order in your cities, and in the AI's cities.
- The spawning of rebels in your territory.
- Your likelihood of success in auto-resolving battles.
- Other abstract behavior in diplomacy, and aggression.
Battle Difficulty affects the following:
- The stamina of your troops
- (EDIT) Morale
- The AI's tactics on the battlefield (marginal effect, because the AI is always stupid at any difficulty)
- Battle difficulty does not affect unit stats (other than stamina and morale), and does not affect auto resolve.

On a VH campaign the AI also produces loads of units, though it's mostly spear militia or some other weak one.
There's a growth bonus in some mods for AI on VH (campaign)... your enemies pretty much always outtech you as they don't need to build farms.
..Aeratus, correct me if I'm wrong, but don't enemies get morale bonuses on VH too? They rout not nearly as often as on M or H.
yeah, I thought on H or VH the AI gets a bonus to attack, defense and morale just like in RTW
Înfrânt nu eşti atunci când sângeri,
nici ochii când în lacrimi ţi-s.
Adevăratele înfrângeri,
sunt renunţările la vis.
the Vanilla game has no money bonus for the AI (atleast I didnt find one in the campain_script) but all 4 Kingdom Campaigns do.
Wait, more rebels pop up on higher difficulty? cause they annoy me to hell. Your public order might be 150%, they still pop up. often with units that no-one has at the moment (like halberd militia or chivalric knights). And because of the fog of war you often dont see them several turns, meanwhile damaging your land

i hate them, i often use auto_win on them. You got a brothel, a church, council chambers and what now, with 150% pulbic order, but they have to revolt.... most of the times with units that you can only use in150 year. I like it how they changed it empire/napoleon/shogun II

My problem with rebels is always whats in the stack. Byzantine campaign with GUAM installed, and on turn 30 half stack of rebels turns up with three archontoupoulai(ultra elite heavy cav).
I barely ever fight them though, just use watchtowers to keep them off roads and moving around(3 in close proximity keeps them moving so no devastation)
It’s better to excite some and offend others than be bland and acceptable to all
Creating a mod.pack with PFM - Database Table Fragments
the AI get attack bonus on VH, try duelling feudal foot knights vs another feudal foot knights (or other clone units) on H and VH, you will see that in VH you always lose... at least on custom battle that is
the only thing that is a bit hard in vh/vh is the campaign, if u start a war ur reputation decreases and u will have big trouble in not keeping in the red beacuse of the army that u have to buy
