Personal History:
Decimus Maximus Olympicus was born into a poor plebian family. When he was nine, his father sent him to work with a merchant in Rome. The merchant put Decimus right to work-cleaning the storehouses. Eventually, the merchant realized how hard of a worker he was and took him on as an apprentice. Decimus picked up on the trade quickly, learning how to buy and sell at the right prices and how to manage a business. All the while Decimus continued to send money home to parents, until they had enough saved to move out of the city and move north where they planned to buy a piece of land. Decimus sent them on their way the day after he turned seventeen and never saw them again. He looked for them for months but no trace of them could be found, but rumors were that they had been captured by the Gauls and taken as slaves. Decimus immediately took leave of the merchant and left to join the army to fight the Gauls. However, his outfit did not see much fighting and after ten years of being in the ranks of the hastati, Decimus returned to Rome. For a year he struggled to sustain himself, when he was informed one day that the merchant that he had worked for in his younger years had died and left him a large sum of money and his business. This was exactly what Decimus needed to get back on his feet again. He improved the business and made more money than the merchant ever had making Decimus into a high class plebian. Now he has the taken interest in law and has ambitions to join the Senate. All he needs now is a way in…

Decimus was watching his servants saddle his horse. It was a beautiful day and he would have liked to spent it home but business had to be taken care of in Rome. As he looked to the sky, Decimus thought on how long of a journey he had taken to reach this point. From a poor boy living in what could only be the slums of Rome to having his own servants and a grand domvs of his own. At least it was grand in his opinion. It was a beautiful domvs, but Decimus had seen villas that made his abode look as if a child had built it. No matter, it was his home and he was proud of it.

By this time the horse was ready and Decimus mounted. Turning to his servant, Gaius he said, "If anyone should come by tell them that I'm going to the city and should be back by tomorrow. Make sure to take their messages and tell them I will get back to them as soon as possible." Gaius nodded and Decimus galloped off for the glorious city of seven hills.
