Patch 1.3 installation problems.

If you get the follwoing error:

Setup has experinced an error.

Please do the following:
-Close any running programs
-empty your temporary folder
-check your internet connection(internet-based setups)

then try to run the setup again.

error code: -6001

This is the solution:

If the error message says something about deleting your temp folder and such, then it's an Installshield error. In that case do the following:

go to "C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Professional\Runtime" and delete a folder named "0701". See if this solves the problem.

I've deleted this file before, but the install shield on BI installs a new one.

Thanks I suggest just remaing it though cause at times it doesn't let you delete it.

Just move the folder to your desktop and then delete it.

I am trying to install to patch 1.5.

When I install patch 1.3, it says maintenance complete, but the game version still says 1.0, and I can't run the patch 1.5.

Any ideas?

Thanks Lusted,it worked fine,I had this problem,trying to reinstall RTW after quite a long time,and also trying to update
to the latest patches,stumbled in this Install Shield thing,and deleting that folder worked it out....

I'm a little late on the thank you, but I'm gonna say it. THANKS A LOT!!! Trying to patch to 1.3 has been driving me crazy with that error. I really want to play the mods for version 1.5 (believe it or not, especially yours Lusted

).

I've got several problems in RTW Gold (although I didn't install barbarian invasion).

1) I'm the Julii faction. I got the betrayal notice and was outlawed. I shifted armies from Germania, Britain, Gaul and Spain and conquered the Italian peninsula. I layed siege to Rome. Every time I assaulted Rome - I succeeded in capturing the City and then the game crashed. I did it 4 times and each time went back to my saved game and tried again. I decided to delay the assault and did a bunch of other moves instead, saving after every turn. Now, the City has run out of food and surrenders at the end of the turn and crashes the game.

2) i went looking for patches. i installed 1.3 and not only did it not help, it deleted the executable file for the game and nothing would work anymore until i went back and reinstalled the executable.

Now i'm back where I was with the imminent capture of Rome and crash of the game. It's like Ground Hog Day.
