Most mods usually just need you to unzip and place the mod folder along with another file in the "mod" folder in hoi3

Not true for HOI3, only the HPP, the official DLCs, and a few smaller ones use the mod folder, as most modders are too lazy to use that feature and instead prefer to copy over the original game files.Originally Posted by Coal143
Wallienator, what you need to do is make a copy of your HOI3 folder and put it somewhere that's on in Program Files. Here are the install instruction from AS's download page (MiniStorm is their Semper Fi version):
Checksum for the FtM version is GPYXInstallation instructions:
1/Duplicate your vanilla game ( patched with: 2.04f for MiniStorm / FTM 3.04 for August Storm )
2/Delete the "History" folder from the duplicated folder
3/Copy the August Storm/MiniStorm files in the duplicated folder, replace the vanilla files when asked
4/Create a shortcut in your directory
5/Delete the contents of Map/cache ( For MiniStorm only!)
6/Reload
7/Reload again (to have the right checksum, for MiniStorm only!)
8/Enjoy!
