    Hi,



    First, i apologise for my poor english, but i'm not a english native speaker, and i'm very bad in foreign languages...



    Since Februar 2010, i'm working on a mod called Virtua Pugna (VFP = Virtua Fantasy Pugna) that groups units from METW, LOTR and FATW.
    I've begun this mod after having asked the permission in contacting WLesmana and Aradan, and other persons for others mods.


    Why do i integrate units from these mods while there is " father mods " ?
    You can find the explanation >> THERE <<.
    In summary, we are a little community that uses a little soft made by DarkSide 3-4 years ago to simulate the strategic side (OVR) between human players, and we play the battles with RTW.
    I'm member of this little community since 2,5 years, and i've proposed to make a BattleMod that would allow us to make battles coming from OVR, while we would make a campaign in Middle-Earth. VFP will be the battle side under RTW, while OVR is the campaign side.

    VFP is a BattleMod because it will never had a campaign side : it's too hard to me, and it's the condition for the agreement of the modders (and i will ask you a question : why make a new mod while there are METW, LOTR and FATW ? ).



    The two following post will present VFP and show screens, but slowly, because it's not the priority : the work on VFP goes slowly ; surely but slowly. So i use too this post to ask help for UI Cards and maybe some others things.
    Indeed, although there are other people that help a little me, essentially i'm alone to work on VFP.
    To work on a mod is interesting, because i've learned things about modding on RTW (and i still learning), but sometimes, it's disheartening because there is still a lot of work... And i've the feelings that it will never end...
    So i say to me that, als TWC is a great forum with a lot of members, maybe (i say maybe) there will be one member that will propose his help. We can always dream...

    Le Patch v4.1.1 rajoute les stats équilibrés pour toutes les factions, hormis Rohan, Isengard et Umbar.
    Le MiniMod 11 a donc été mis à jour.


    Vous devez avoir le jeu Rome Total War v1.5 installé.
    VFP-TW est
    modfoldé : il n'écrase aucun fichier du jeu de base et vous pouvez continuer à jouer avec celui-ci en parallèle de VFP-TW.

    Les archives contiennent à chaque fois le fichier texte expliquant succintement comment installer les parties du Mod ou le Patch
    , ainsi que le dossier compacté comprenant les fichiers à installer.
    Consignes étendues d'installation et d'utilisation de la version 4.0 :

    - Dézippez chaque archive Virtua_Pugna_v4-0-Xx.rar dans le dossier de votre choix : vous obtiendrez le dossier \Virtua_Pugna (vous pouvez dézipper dans le même dossier, les éléments suivants se rajouteront au dossier \Virtua_Pugna).
    ATTENTION ! Respectez l'ordre indiqué par la liste !

    - Une fois le dossier \Virtua_Pugna dézippé, copiez-le puis collez-le DANS le/un dossier \Rome - Total War (dossier de votre RTW qui servira à lancer le BattleMod - là où il y a l'exécutable RomeTW.exe).

    - Créez un raccourci de votre exécutable RomeTW.exe
    - Cliquez droit sur ce raccourci puis cliquez sur l'onglet Raccourci ; dans le champ Cible, c/c ceci : -mod:Virtua_Pugna -ne -nm -show_err
    ATTENTION (!) : UN ESPACE DOIT ÊTRE LAISSÉ ENTRE LES GUILLEMETS ET LES COMMANDES À C/C !
    Exemple :
    Cible : "D:\__Games\Total War\Rome - Total War\RomeTW.exe" -mod:Virtua_Pugna -ne -nm -show_err
    Ces commandes permettent de lancer RTW avec le BattleMod (-mod:Virtua_Pugna), en fenêtre (-ne), sans vidéo d'introduction (-nm) et avec l'option d'affichage de message d'erreur en cas de bug (-show_err).
    .
    - Dans le dossier /Virtua_Pugna, vous pouvez créer un raccourci du fichier VFP-TW_-_Swap-Fr.bat.
    En tout état de cause, avant de lancer le BattleMod VIRTUA PUGNA, il vous faut choisir les factions avec lesquels vous voulez jouer.
    Pour cela, double-cliquez sur VFP-TW_-_Swap-Fr.bat (ou son raccourci) et choisissez le Mini-Mod qui correspond à votre choix.

    - Une fois le choix du Mini-Mod effectué, double-cliquez sur l'icône de raccourci de RTW : le BattleMod VIRTUA PUGNA : TOTAL WAR se lance.


    Cette version remplace la version et les patchs précédents. Si vous l'installez, vous devez effacer le dossier \Virtua_Pugna déjà installé dans votre dossier de Rome Total War, puis suivre les instructions.

    - Unzip each archive Virtua_Pugna_v4-0-Xx.rar in the folder of your choice : you get the folder \Virtua_Pugna (you can unzip into the same folder, the following will be added to the folder \Virtua_Pugna).

    Once the folder \Virtua_Pugna unzipped, copy and paste it INTO the/a folder \Rome - Total War (folder of your RTW that will be used to launch the Battlemod - where there is the executable RomeTW.exe).

    - Create a shortcut of your executable RomeTW.exe
    - Right-click the shortcut and then click the Shortcut tab, in the Target field, c/p this : -mod:Virtua_Pugna -ne -nm -show_err
    WARNING (!) : A SPACE TO BE LEFT BETWEEN QUOTES AND ORDERS TO C/P !
    Exemple :
    Target : "D:\__Games\Total War\Rome - Total War\RomeTW.exe" -mod:Virtua_Pugna -ne -nm -show_err
    These commands start with the RTW BattleMod (-mod:Virtua_Pugna), in window (-ne), without introductory video (-nm) and with the option to display an error message if bug (-show_err).

    - In the folder /Virtua_Pugna, you can create a shortcut of the file VFP-TW_-_Swap-Fr.bat.
    In any event, before starting the Battlemod VIRTUA PUGNA, you must choose the factions with which you want to play.
    To do this, double-click VFP-TW_-_Swap-Fr.bat (or its shortcut) and choose the Mini-Mod corresponding to your choice.

    - Once the choice of the Mini-Mod made​​, double-click the shortcut icon RTW : the BattleMod VIRTUA PUGNA : TOTAL WAR starts.



    This version replaces the previous version and patches. If you install it, you must delete the folder \Virtua_Pugna already installed in your Rome Total War folder,then follow the instructions.

    But it's not finished...
    I'm actually working to equalize the statistical and to finalize the texts (in french... i'm sorry ; but if somebody want to translate ).

    And there is yet a "problem" : there is a lot of units that have'nt UI Cards... So if somebody was ready to help, he will be welcomed.

    I'v added Patch v4.1.1.
    It adds the stats balanced for all factions, except Rohan, Isengard and Umbar.

    This looks good. And don´t worry, nobody is perfect. If your mod is at the end bugfree and nice to play, it is all what most players care about. Not how many patches you released.

    The work go slowly but surely.
    The balancing of the stats is finished for all the actual factions.
    I'm working on the MiniMods which allow to increase the differents meetings between the differents factions of the Middle-Earth (so, actually it doesn't concern Êlvars, Dhuêrgârs and Numenoreans)
    After this, there will be a patch.


    There is yet work to do :
    - UI Cards for the new units (which are adaptation of units from METW, FATW or LOTR-TW).
    - Adapted names for the generals of the factions.
    - Work on the faction of the Êlvars (Elfs from METW, that i adapt as a "dark" faction).
    - Adaptation of units from others mods... I haven't finish... But it's sympathetic...

    I have a problem with the siege battles : it makes CTD...
    I think that the problem comes from export_descr_buildings.txt, but i don't see why...

    With Plain Battles, there is no problem.
    But it's when i want to fight on city map that it makes CTD...
    Could someone help me or give me ideas ?

    I've worked again on the export_descr_buildings.txt et le descr_strat.txt, but there is always CTD...
    Once, VFP has showed the battle just before the deploiement, when the loading is finished, but just after... CTD...

    I don't understant why VFP works with battles in plain, but not with sieges...

    Icon5 [RTW] Virtua Pugna (VFP) = GROß Problem

    I ask help, because VFP doesn't work more...
    It doesn't launch any MiniMod, with any version of this BattleMod...

    Using Process_Monitor and Zeus_Tool, i've seen that the "processing" stops at D:/__Games\Total War\Rome - Total War v1.5 - Mods\data\descr_event_images.txt : :

    Comparing with Vanilla RTW, I noticed that apparently it crashes with the DMB.

    So i've launched Zeus which shows this :

    But, I don't understand ... The paths have'nt changed from before ; models and textures are really at the locations indicated.
    In short, I think that the game fails to read the paths, but I don't understand why ...
    Someone has an idea?

    After a long period (since i did'nt resolve my problem, i was a lot dejected ), i'am trying to work again on Virtua Pugna.
    But it still to crash... I've some error messages, but not always...
    So as had advised Skull, i'v posted in Rome Workshop.
