All Roman families get senate missions. Some of the major mods (Europa Barbarorum, Rome Total Realism etc) have turned it off. But they did that by somehow removing the senate. Im not sure if you can turn the missions off with the senate existing. But you just can ignore the missions anyway, it wont matter. (Althouhg it would be harder to capture Rome)

Yeah, if you decide to remove SPQR, it would probably involve extensive modification until you've ironed out all the areas that refer to SPQR in vanilla.

There is an alternative, however. Have a look at descr_senate.txt located @ C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\Data. Here you will see a list of various senate missions, offices and so on. If you want to mod this file, I'd do some research before starting so you know what you're doing. Also create backups of the original text files so you have something to fall back upon if and when required.

Moved to the Mod Workshop as this is now a discussion about modding.

No, that will make the game crash.

I'd tell you how to modify descr_senate, but I've never modded it before and would have to do some research on how to go about editing it. Try the search tool, type in descr_senate, descr senate, senate etc until you find a modding topic that explains what you need to do.

    I've just found this:

    Modding Senate Missions

However, it seems that the file doesn't have much documentation, so not many people know what it means.

There is no quicker way, unless you remove the senate and roman family relationship.

That even takes more work i believe. And that is why mods take so much time to get done. Scripting just takes alot of time.
