Windows Xp 32 bit Service pack 3
Pentium 4 Processor
3 g ram
500 w PSU
226 g HD -53.3 gigs free
PCI-E
I installed a Gigabyte 5670 ATI graphics card about 2-3 weeks, and pretty much since then, i've been getting Stop Error BSOD when I shut down and restart my computer. It's usually the same error (I think)
, something along the lines of "pci.sys...stop error: " with a bunch of zeros and a seven with letter.
Only once did it happen while I was at the windows home screen and got a different error:
Pci.sys-address F7349AB9 base at F7347000 DateStamp 4800252bb
page_fault_in_nonpaged_area
stop 0x0000050
Microsoft has it listed here
After that, my computer when into a cycle of rebooting itself before getting to the welcome screen. I disabled the card, Uninstalled ATI drivers, and went back to using the onboard video card. I didn't get "Page_fault" error again. I went back to using the ATI graphics card using driver that came with CD, latest drivers aren't working properly. They keeping giving me error without any detail. I still get that other PCI.sys error, and I'm not sure why or how to resolve it.
My ideas are :
1)Driver issues
2) GC isn't working properly
3) my old comp (got it in 04 or 05) just doesn't work with newer cards
4) I accidentally deleted a windows driver (Nv4). Not sure
and maybe a few others, not sure.
I have about week to return the card back if it isn't compatible
I'm not techy, so any help would be greatly appreciated.. Thank you
