Icon5 General bodyguard often stop charge in front of enemy?

    Hello,

last day i am experiencing very unpleasant behaviour from my general bodyguard units, which i did not notice (or didnt experience) before. When i order my general unit to charge, they do charge (i can hear the horn) but when they come close to the unit (not spearmen, but archers also) they suddenly stop their charge - status info changes from charge to pursuing (in case of enemy archers), and no charge damage is done.

Also i experienced - in the city walls, that general bodyguard does not fight at all. I have general and enemy archers in the same street - maybe 20 meters of distance. I order general to attack them but he does not. I try to move unit past the archers (in hope that some damage will be done that way), but they dont attack. My whole 20 men general unit was killed by 30 turkish archers, and they did not even attack, even when ordered, they just stand next to enemy and get killed.

Did any of you experienced such behaviour?

    Thanx for any answer.

    Greetings,

    Smeto

You have the most up to date version that you can have without having the Kingdoms Expansion. i am runnign this and do not experience this problem.

Not very technical so i am out of ideas. Hopefully someone with more technical intelligence will be able to help you.

there are answers to this don't worry it happens with all cavalry.

The archers are skirmishing and turn their backs and run away. The cav immediately go into pursuit mode and take out their swords and lose their momentum. It's a bug it happens to all of us, the best solution is to charge a unit behind the unit you want to charge so you just run those archers over.

And near the walls some of the unit your trying to attack must still be in the walls so you cavalry can't attack them since they can't go up walls. send infantry if you have some.

This is normal behavior resulting from the problems with the game's mechanics. Consequently, the best way to defend against a charge is to run away, because it tricks the game's charging mechanism, either causing the charge to miss its target or the charge motion to halt (and turn into pursuing).

This is not normal behavior, and might have been a bug.
