Have you tried installing it on a fresh Rome Install? Also, It's a good idea to always make a backup of the vanilla Rome - Total War folder just incase something goes wrong. Oh and you could also try waiting a bit before clicking ok to go back to the campaign map as I've had it happen to me in other mods too.

EB requires a clean and unmodified RTW version patched to 1.5
If you are not sure if you have a clean version install new.
Afterwards follow How to install EB
