Persistent crash problem in MMU

I am playing a game as a Zoroastrian Persia in MMU. I had to insert that country by editing a savegame. I also switched a few other countries' national ideas via savegame editing. I customized some game files, mainly having to do with conversion speed (to slow things down, not speed things up) and also in order to add Zoroastrian names to the Persia country file.

I am having a persistent crashing problem. It first showed up around the year 1430, and I eventually solved that by removing a couple decision files. I managed to get up to 1480, but now I have that same problem again. I cannot progress in this game, because every time I get to a certain date (it is different every time, but it is always in the same month) I end up crashing.

I loaded a previous save that started in 1479, and I managed to get to April 1483, but then the game crashed again. When I loaded the save for 1 January 1483, I could only get a few days without crashing. This sort of thing happens with all the save games that I load. I tried loading the savegames on another computer with a fresh, uncostumized version of MMU, but I still get a crash.

Can somebody tell me what may be wrong and how to fix it? I can upload the relevant files and system logs upon request.

I solved the problem. The IDs of the military units that I inserted in the savegame were conflicting with something. I disbanded them, and the CTD went away.
