A few of the cows mooed as the group of men approached the herd... There was over five hundred cattle in O'Hagans herd that had followed the army north from Norfolk and now into Scotland...
The men selected forty large cows and gently lead them away from the rest in to a small thicket of trees... There they cut their throats and began the dirty work of butchering the animals...
Some hours later the smell of roasting beef swept over the English Camp... Many great fires had been lit and cuts of beef were being roasted over the open flame... Along with the beef was an array of boiled vegatables and bread... It wasnt the greatest feast of all time... But for tired men on campaign the meal was most welcome...
Messages were delivered to all the Lords and Commanders in the Army... Inviting them and their men to share in the feast... Soon they came together and the merriment began...
