    Default 2 Turns Per Year - the unobtainable dream!

    Hi Guys,

    I want to be able to use 2TPY but just run standard SS 6.4. The only sub mod I could find which implements 2TPY for me without having to mess around manually with lots of files is Rolling Wave's "Historical Units Region Buildings mod" The problem is this mod also installs lots of other stuff I REALLY don't want... but I can't find a mod that just implements 2TPY ONLY... can I install this sub mod and only enable 2TPY, disabling all the other features?

    You can try Meneth's sub-mod compilation for ss 6.4, yes it comes with a couple more little sub-mods but most you can turn on or off. It has a one settlement type as a standard, but with a little tinckering you can get it back to 2 settlement types, all the info regarding Meneth's sub-mod and how to get it back to 2 settlement types is here : http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=380006.

    Not quite what you asked for but hope it helps some.

    Meneth's 2tpy mod only works with 6.3, i tried. I would also love to play 2tpy with no strings attached but there doesn't appear to be any sub-mod anymore that offers it. I hope there is a solution though.

    I was afraid of that. Not really sure what to suggest now. Though i do recommend MSC.

    1. Go to SS6.3\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign, open campaign_script.txt and delete or comment out the "ageing script"

    2. Open descr_strat.txt and change timescale to 0.50

    3. information on how to turn devastation back on is in this thread, in the middle of some other info:

    Devastation has been turned off in vanilla 6.4 because it becomes permanent when the default aging script is active.

    ironstatue - I have done all the above, saved the files and then ran SS Setup - made my AI choices etc, ran the game... but it made no difference i.e. the game still changed at 1TPY (tried with several factions)

    Try running the setup first then make all the changes overwrites etc, that's my guess. Is your UAC turned off if you have windows? Make sure the files in 6.3 are not listed as "read only" files.

    The problem with that idea is I have already made the changes now... i.e I changed all the files, then ran SS Setup already, so If I now run SS Setup and open, save and close the files surely it won't do anything?

    All the files in the SEGA folder containing all the M2TW data are read only, including those in the SS 6.3 folder...

    Any more help guys? Hardcore modders welcome!

    Running ss_setup fetches the campaign files from the campaign folder and puts them into the "game folders" like SS6.3\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign.
    If you make changes to SS6.3\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign and then run ss_setup everything in there gets overwritten.

    Actually, you don't have to worry about running the Set-up again - just edit the descr strat file (Turns = 0.50) in the mods/ss6.3 folder - save it and then hit properties and mark as read-only. Then go play.

    Correct me if I am wrong but I believe the files in the mods folder that mirror the main folder set-up trumps those in the main folder.

    He can do that but as soon as he switches campaign options or campaigns all will go down in flames. Might be weeks from now but I'll be the one left holding the bag for that one when it comes to fixing that in tech support. No thanks

    To be honest now I'm more confused than ever.... what exactly is wrong with the set of instructions that ironstature gave me that makes it not work properly? i.e.

    is it possible to run the game at .75 tpy

    and on a side note-i couldnt find anything in the resources and tutorials section in the workshop, so how do i change a factions name? eg. england-royaume de angletre

    I'm running 6.4 with Meneth's submod and it makes 2TPY standard. You also have to use the One Settlement Type, but as noted above, that is modifiable.

    so, hypothetically, you could have 16 turns per year or even 365
