    Default BGRIV , i dont get it

    Please tell me if you please with or without BGRIV orBGRII in Ss6.4 and please tell me why.

    I tried it and I noticed that playing with BGRIV is only a very little longer turns, but itsnot a big difference to playing without BGRIV

    my other question is: does BGRIV only affects the player or also the AI? i mean, does the AI also has to handle the supply system , character and recuitment system etc.? and if yes, is the ai able to handle all this?

    Whats the impact of using BGRIV, i mean, for the overall gameplay? I mean, does this prevent the AI sending masses of rull stacks every turn?

    currently using BGRIV myself. overall it increases game difficulty and prevents yourself from steamrolling the AI after u win a few battles. the bigger your empire the more negative effects apply for your family, loyality drops, only FL and heir are allowed to attack outside your own lands, recruitment only by warcouncillers etc.

    supply, character and recruitment do not apply to the AI, instead his generals get a big bonus on morale and command ability making the battles tougher for you to win thus increasing the fun. no more easy mass routings to win the battles unless u kill the general first, but that rarely happens.

    no the AI will always send those huge stacks, where would be the point in sending anything else when you don't use halfstacks yourself?

    To add to what Nyarla has already said. It is important to pay attention to the BGR traits that usually appear at the bottom of each Monarchs/Generals trait list. Basically each Monarch/General has now got his own personal income. Certain things like governing ability/traits gained, war bounty etc. can increase this income but other things like taxes & special taxes- i.e scutage and/or crusade tax, reduce his personal income. Titles also benefit characters, as some titles determine who can and cannot lead armies to war and whom pays for what during recruitment of fresh blood to bolster your war-machine etc. The King at times will also give out specific orders that will appear in his list of traits that can significantly impact on the game; bad thing happen when those orders are not followed. Any fines, summon orders, and banishment orders will also show up as traits- so pay close attention to your Monarchs/Generals traits...these are just some of the features BGRIV has to offer to greatly enhance game experience.

    BGRIV comes with a lot of information that can be daunting for first timers. Just take your time and read it again. It may take some time to understand but I assure you its not impossible and well worth it once you become familiar with the new features. If there is anything specific you don't understand within the BGRIV guide itself try looking on the BGR forums or posting it here if you cannot find your answer.

    Good luck mate.

    Try the pdf manual that is posted on the 2nd post in the BGR thread. It is much easier to read and therefore to understand.

    you really think there is not a big difference playing with or without BGR4? There is a huge economic and morale bonus difference from BGR4 compared to playing without BGR4

    yeah, but i noticed, that, when i Alt-Tab, the game is also stopping with the AI to make his turn. So i need to be ingame, without Alt-TAb, if i want the game to continue, thats baaad

    in your SS6.3 mod folder find and open (with notepad/notepad++) default.cfg (make use the read only box is unticked under properties). Then edit the default.cfg file by adding these lines under [video] section:
    HTML Code:
    windowed=true
    borderless_window=true
    While you're there if you got a good graphics card also change unit detail from high (as set by SS6.3) to highest also under [video] section:
    HTML Code:
    unit_detail=highest

    Just set your ingame solution to the desktop solution and SS will use autoborderlessmode to set that automatically.

    If you use Vaultdwellas way then also look for
    autoborderlessmode=true
    and set it to
    autoborderlessmode=false

    You need to remove the #.
    In "computer language" a # means "This is just a comment, ignore this line".

    thank you to both of you guys.

    another question: when i recruit soldiers, or when soldiers die in battle, do i actually lose some people of my population in cities?

    No. Probably these soldiers come from the countryside anyway

    That RTW feature was regretably removed. Recruitment etc does not impact on your population.

    This annoyed me greatly. No more recruiting masses of populace in one area, and shipping them to other areas, and then disbanding them, so the population of the area increases. Although I imagine that in Medieval, where you can recruit multiple units, that this might be a bit broken, as you could quickly just transfer around the men, building up one city until it's huge, then simply recruiting people from that city and sending it to another city, and rinse and repeat.

    This could be done in Rome as well. Good to quickly make those ports.

    By the by, Byzantine emperors used to encourage big transfers of populations from cities to the countryside when it needed to decentralise. So it was done in reality anyway, which means it wouldn't be broken. I loved sending peasants from cities to towns/villages in Rome as well and it helped in stabilising my empire.

    Could such a feature be added in M2TW? If not by transferring soldiers, but maybe by making a certain building in cities that you want to interchange populations, and then this would cause greater growth to the smaller cities having this building and an appropriate lesser growth in the larger cities? The building would essentially try to "balance" the populations of all the cities it is situated in. And players would destroy it at will if they don't want its effects. Probably should be instant-build as well.
    And of course AI would never make the building, they don't have growth rate problems anyway.
