Default Question about aging family members

There are so many threads about different things you can do to change turn times/aging of characters in SS I literally can't make heads or tails of it, so can someone answer me a couple of simple questions please?:

I'm playing SS 6.4 installed directly over the top of SS 6.3, installed directly over the top of a clean install of Kingdoms (1.4). At no time have I ever installed any other sub-mods. When I click on end turn, does 1 year pass? If so, why does the season change from summer to winter?... this suggests there should be 2 turns per year ... also when I click on end turn, how much does each character age? I could swear how fast they age does not seem to correlate with the year display in the bottom left corner... which in turn does not seem to correlate with the appearance of snow for a whole year, followed by an apparently entirely sunny year...

"In 1101 there was snow accross the land for the entire year, while the following year presented nothing but perpetual sun for the good people of England... why does God torment us so with such strange weather?!" - confused 12th century historian

    Any help/insight welcome

As far as i know, ss 6.4 is 1TPY, i think it alternates between "summer" and "winter" every year just so it gives you a feel of change. The characters should age 1 year every turn in relation to the year. I personally use ss 6.4 and it is fine, if you fancy 2TPY; 1 summer and 1 winter try meneth' sub-mod compilation here http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=380006. It also has a whole host of handy little mods. hope i've helped abit. if i'm wrong about anything, please "enlighten" me
