getting a Physician

recently i wondered what are the requirements to get a physician as ancillery? in my current campaign as ERE i managed to get a single one with my faction leader after he had dozends of battles (using BGR IV so only the FL does the fighting).
now is there a way to figure out what i have to do e.g. have a general that fights loads of battles with enough casualties on your side, so he decides: damn i gotta take care of all those woundeds that drag my army down and all those simulants pretending to be sick, only so they can visit the brothels. So lets hire a doc.

i noticed my own casualty recovery went up to around 40% from previously 10%. sometimes out of 400-something casualties 200 get revived or 450 / 1100 but generally its awesome. no need for reinforcements in between battles just head straight for your goal the army can endure it.

You need to win a battle, lose more than half your army and have either bimaristan+ or university+(non-muslim) in your realm. you can find these things in your export_descr_ancillaries.txt file

You need to lose over 50% of your army in a battle, and have a University build somewhere within your empire. If these conditions are met, you have a 10% chance of getting a physician, provided you're not a Islamic faction.
If you are playing an Islamic faction, you need to have build a Bismaristan instead of a University, and your chance to get one is increased to 30%.

looks like its a costly business getting one, hmm does this apply if i loose the battle as well? this way i could just send a general along with heaps of weak units to battle then suicide the army and retreat the general

Huh, never gotten a physician on one of my own generals ever. I got one through marriage to an AI general once... but if I remember physicians can't be passed to another general or can they?

Ichon, I never got one either, perhaps because I never let half my army die. In the few cases this happened, the modest chance for a physician never rolled enough, I guess.
