Default God King of the Mediterranean

I don't know about you guys but one of my favourite things to do in RTR is take all of the coastline and then make peace with the factions just to watch all of their economies die

    Any other ideas for fun?

That used to work in M1TW, too. I pwned as the Byzantines with that strategy. It won't work in ExRM 4.0, though. I redid the economy specifically to make sure that trade wouldn't be that overwhelmingly important.

Park an army in their territory and watch the devastation spread!

Take their cities, exterminate everyone, and demolish all buildings. Then move your troops on to the next settlement, letting your newly-conquered settlement rebel back to the original owners. If you do this to all their cities, they have a completely-messed up economy

Yes, but then you don't get the joy of seeing your enemies crushed beneath your feet, living out a pitiable existence! [Insert Dr. Evil laugh here...]

In the beginning of the game if you have any money if easiest to continually execute the town until you have a good deal of money

I like making a vassal, then as I conquer a province, I give it to my vassal so they develop it, while taking one their province bordering me. Thus I slowly push them ahead like a portable meatshield, with the bonus of them developing the provinces for me. This works best with someone of the same culture, though.
