Default Christian on trial in Afghanistan... for being a Christian

    PHP Code:
KABULAfghanistan An Afghan man who allegedly converted from Islam to Christianity is being prosecuted in a Kabul court and could be sentenced to deatha judge said Sunday

We go in to Afghanistan to wipe out an evil Islamic theocracy. Five years later, we have an evil Islamic theocracy. God I love this country.

It does make you think, doesn't it. Bush just can't admit that Islam might be the problem here.

If Islam is the problem, then what do you propose should be done about it?

I don't think Islam in itself is a bad religion, but this Sharia  needs to go, ASAP. The only difference between Afghanistan pre-2001 and post-2001 is that it's friendly to the U.S.

    That's awful...

This is why religion should never rule the people. Ever. Name me one time when the religious law dominating a country helped the people.

I really respect this guy for not converting back, even if it were to save his life. And of all the people in the world to turn him, it's his family.

With Islam comes Sharia law or something that is as evil.. If the religion permitted pork, I might have understood the men. But the women!! God knows what drug they use?!

Minor correction, Afghanistan is not "Arab". But I'd agree with the rest.

You'd be surprised how much that mistake is made. Apparently *I'm* an arab. News to me, but there you go.

Don't worry, I encountered the same thing last time I went to the US (and France as well). It gets annoying fast.

    (sorry for going OT)

I don't think anything is giving Islam a bad name, I think it is giving it to itself.

I just dont think 1 man dying is that big of a deal. How many people die everyday?
Now imagine yourself on trial with the possibility of being sentenced to execution for his harmless personal beliefs and make that statement again.

And wheres your liberal b00 h00 tears for them? Exactly, none are shed, but because we know a little bit of backstory about THIS particular man it somehow makes this case more important.
The problem isn't the one many dying. The problem is the logic behind it. We fight for the freedom of a people and the independance from a corrupt regime and extremist network in Afghanistan. Because of this there shouldn't be anyone on trial because of their personal beliefs.

I laugh at death at most every opportunity, now is no exception, what else can we as humans do? Type "R.I.P." and then feel like we've done something worthwile? Typing R.I.P., and acting solemn and somber doesnt do ANYONE a lick of good. Maybe you dont realize that you too will one day die? So will I, so will your mother and your sister, and your family pet. Everyone who reads this, is dying. I hope when I die, people can laugh about it at least.
Have you ever exerpienced death? Seeing these ridiculous statements I don't think you have. I have had two of my friends die over the past year, one was 12 when he died and the other died this past week of lukemia. Try watching your best friend die with your own eyes and see if you can just laugh it off.

The ignorance and negativity of your attitude disgusts me.

Why not? Why person should not be on trial due to his personal beliefs if democratically elected, as case with Afganistan is supposed to be, goverment with popular support declares it to be crime?

Perhaps people were made "free" and independent. Here is your answer to it. People of Afganistan are not "americans" or "europeans" or "western" people who are oppressed by evil imams to act against their interest of being western. They are afganis who have completely different cultural background and totally different view of the world.

It is their country to do as they please. If they think this guy committed crime worthy of death penalty it is their decision to make and we others have no business telling them they can't do it in THEIR country. Or actually, we have every right in our countries to say they can't do it but we have no business trying to force them not to do so.

Everyone is warhero, genius and millionaire in Internet, so don't be surprised that I'm not impressed.

Hmm, this are one of the resons i like that america raided muslims, i think they should go and save this man and take all the oil again. And then give them laws for them to follow. Thought they mayby shouldnt say that they gave muslims their laws
You have a certain mentality, a "you vs them" and i know it is hard to see, but it is only your imagination which makes up enemies everywhere. I haven't professed anything but being neutral so why Do you feel the need to defend yourself from me?. Truly What are you defending? when there is nobody attacking?

Whats sad is that it would appear that some of the people on this forum are more concerned with the fact that those oh so evil, baby eating Christians are about to gain a martyr, then the fact a man is about to lose his life for standing up for his beliefs. And all in a country we "liberated."
