    Default Working around unspecified errors?

Is there any way of getting around the unspecified errors, as I am like 40 turns into an Averland campaign before it unspecified errored. As I have seen some people just work around it before.

They are mostly just random. Strangly I used to get quite a few once my install was brand new but after a while of playing their frequency drops off quite a bit. Theres no way to get rid of them all, but they arnt gamebreaking so you get used to them

I got a better computer & that helped a bit & mostly automating battles will help but
yeah the errors are something you'll have to live with to play such an awesome mod.

How frequent have the errors been?

Also, is the mod playable or are there too many errors to effectively play the mod?

    Is Kingdoms updated to v1.05?

Updated to latest patch, its still playable, ing amazing btw, but sometimes like 10 turns in, 20 turns and 40 turns in its unspecified errors. Generally during the end of turn phase and only once during a battle when playing as wissenland and that orc stack attacks Nuln early on tho had played that battle before before with no problem, Im trying it on my faster laptop to see if that helps plus using the download link you recommended. Still even with the errors its an amazing mod just wondered if anyone else had found a way around it or not.

Like stated, they arnt terribly requent, generally once you just boot up they'll be a bit more common, or very long into your play session the frequency will up, but even then its in no way even like a 10% chance of crashing per turn or loading screen.

Theres always a bright side though, there are no specific crashes, just random ones!

I just got owned by 3 of these ctds in the last hour of game time :( even with my saves, I still lost about 50% of my progress :( wish we can eliminate these ctds :( I thought by doing everything in the faq, the ctds will stop :(

Which method did you to install the game?

Here are some common self-check questions:

Did you disable UAC and run the CoW installation files as administrator?

    Is Kingdoms updated to v1.05?

Did you complete the post installation cleanup of the CoW folder?

Do you have trouble running other mods besides CoW?

    What faction your playing?
I don't think any one faction is more prone to CTDs than another, the problem usually lies elsewhere.

What faction your playing? I played yesterday multiple hours of campaign with Hochland, and many different custom battles, without any CTD all day... It seems totally random who/where you get these...

I got the 1.44 eng full install.

uac disabled since day 1 of win 7. I have only 1 account on my pc and it has full admin rights, do I still need to make sure the run as admin checked in advance properties?

game updated to 1.5 and I followed the post install file deletion to the letter.

I got 3rd age total war running with like 1 crash so far out of weeks of game time.

Did you get the installation files from the official link or the 5-part download?

thats the version i have, some people have trouble with it but i personnaly have no problems what so ever with it. if your case is like mine, then the only place you might crash is in the windows or loading screen, they are random and really cannot be dealth with so dont touch too many stuff in the menu but when when you start the game you should hardly have any crashes. i played for 57 turns with the high elves and no crash in game. just one or two when i was loading.

I've noticed the Rebel faction attempts to send something off map down by Beregonds chalet sometimes resulting in a CTD.
Attempting to change Regions text just buggers campaign though.

    Any suggestions welcome.

I'm also curious about the value of 0.f in one of the ai db files !

    Does that work ?

Does the Mercs script give random mercenaries to the rebel faction ?

Also get a crash when the Rebel faction moves an Orc general, I wonder if its trying to put a watch tower in an illegal position ?
Could there be an error in the Traits or ancillaries awards for successful commanders ?

Wow, five posts in a row, Im impressed. Ever noticed the "Edit" button on the first post? Yeah, it's actually there for a reason.

Things aside, most of the crashes are random. Very rarely its something consistent. It's a problem with the mod. Reinstalling Kingdoms and/or CoW might improve stability, yet again it may not. And make sure to follow the instructions to the last letter.

P.S. this entire post would be better suited for Bug Reports & technical Help, no?
