Removing Banners on strategic map?
Can I edit the banners on the strategic map so's not to see the opposing forces numbers or strength. I'd like to make better use of spies, having to have spies with each army would be good I think...Thx :original:

Please do not double post.
As far as i am aware, you cannot remove the banners on the strategic map, as the game needs them to show troop levels in stacks and cities.

Not sure you could alpha that out.

i think the colours are set in one of the text files as rgb numbers i dont think theres a standard rgb for transparency, so as theres no tga theres no alpha maybe if you set all the numbers to zero
you would still have to resist right clicking on an enemy army though

yeh thats what i thought, the only way i can see of doing this is to get the rgb of the unfilled part of the banner and making all the rgbs the same, i havnt seen the files but im guessing it has a transparency attached somehow ,
thinking about it if you check enemy strength with your spy dosnt that defeat the purpose

It's just the way the banner works, the unfilled part still uses the RGB value to produce a watered down colour for the background, then the actual RGB values for the troop levels.

it cant be done then
the best you can do is make the rgbs really pale so the difference is hard to see
i think the egyptions in rtw are like that,

Ok, thanks...I thought it would make things more interesting not knowing the size of enemy armies. Early on in your campaign you'd have to use single unites to first engage and recon enemy size. later. as you gain spies they'd become very important and even more useful...
