Banishment

My FL recently ordered a Campaign of Terror, and as a result, one of my strongest generals got banished (apparently I failed to acknowledge the campaign and didn't annihilate conquered populations).

My question is: how long will the banishment and the Campaign of Terror last? My general is already losing all his Chivalry (Crusader) because after every skirmish he wins he must kill all prisoners so he won't keep defying the FL.

It lasts as long as your FL has high dread. Basically you either need the FL to die or take actions to lower his dread.

The banishment lasts for awhile... usually until the death of the FL. If it was your best general you are going to have an issue unless you can make him heir.

yes in BGR your leader may decide on a policy that your gererals have to follow, depending if the leader is high dread of chivalry. thus making his followers as evil as he is

Yes- if your FL had high dread he orders all his generals to follow his example. High chivalry has the opposite- must release prisoners and only occupy, never sack or exterminate.
