    Default [Divus] Simetrical (Proposer: imb39/Omnipotent-Q)

    As per constitution -

DivusTo achieve apotheosis and Curia vote, the nominee must be supported by three fourths of non-abstaining elected members of the Consilium de Civitate. The nominee must have served as a Hexagon member (or previous equivalents), made a clear and distinguished contribution to the community and provided exceptional service to TWC in their capacity as an administrator. They cannot be nominated within three months of resigning.

Any Citizen can nominate a former Hexagon member and does so by PMing a Consilium de Civitate member. The Consilium de Civitate will create a thread within the Consilium de Civitate Forum to investigate the legitimacy of the nominee’s accolades. The Consilium de Civitate has the right to request any and all relevant material from the Staff to ascertain this, with the approval of the Hexagon Council. The Consilium de Civitate will discuss the nominee and his qualifications for at least a week before the vote is held.

Should the nominee receive the support of three fourths of non-abstaining Consilium de Civitate members, the Curator shall create a discussion in the Prothalamos lasting at least three days and then move the nomination to vote as per the procedure in Section 2 Article 3. The vote shall last one week and the nominee shall require a two-third majority of non-abstaining votes to become Divus. A nominee who fails the vote is not eligible to be nominated again for a six month period.

I hereby nominate Simetrical for Divus. For reference he left Hexagon 3 months ago in a few hours but there's no active cases right this second in time for you guy's to consider so we might as well get going a few hours early!

Really Sim needs no introduction - having served as an Administrator on TWC longer than any other person. He also of course created Technical Staff, and has been a key figure in the creation of the TWC Wiki, moderating....and just about everything really.

There are those who are better placed to share the nominee's many accolades, particularly current Administrators. But I don't think there's many, if anyone, who has been here more for the site and added as much as Sim has. For a bot , he's always been one of the most friendly and helpful people I've come across on TWC and I know many will share that view!

Simetrical is most definitely more than worthy enough to get a Divus 1000 times. His overall contribution to the site and community is not just exceptional, it's extraordinary and the whole community owes him a lot of gratitude for the free time and hard work he's put in as an Administrator down the years. This Divus award will help show how much we all appreciate the efforts and hard graft Simetrical has made over many years to make TWC a better place for everyone to visit.

    Simetrical - Current held awards:
    • Technician's Screwdriver (Amethyst) (Awarded for time served as Technical Staff for a period greater than three years.)
    • Moderator's Mace (Amethyst) (Awarded for time served as a Moderator for a period greater than three years.)
    • Novus (For exceptional contributions to the site in the capacity of a staff member.)
    • Wiki Contributor (For contributing extensively to the TWC Wiki Project.)
    • Site awards winner in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010

    Praise continues below this line

Sim was a hard-working Admin long before I joined TWC, during my time as a regular member and in my two years in Moderation Staff. Do I really need to say more?

Sim's technical expertise really has kept the site booming all these years. A no-brainer yes vote from me.

While the technical aspect is important for this site, I do not consider this to be Sim's most essential contribution.

For me, the level of ethical debate in Staff that he kindled and maintained throughout his tenure is one of the factors that give TWC a notion of uniqueness in the web. It is unfortunate that I cannot link to any of his most essential contributions but I guess he wouldn't want me to anyway.

I know I shouldn't really be a part of this since I'm not a CdeC councilor, but I feel compelled to chip in my two cents: Sim is the biggest absolute no-brainer Divus ever on TWC. Ever. More so than tBP, more so than Siblesz, more so than even Paul, the site's founder. I'm not sure if TWC would exist right now if it weren't for Sim -- he's the guy who always fixed what was broken, kept improving the site's technical aspects, and was always level-headed and incredibly fair in staff. I had the privilege to be an admin at the same time he was in Hex, even though he should have been Republican Consul, not me (he did more to deserve it than I did and would have done a better job than I did, after all), and have been on staff at the same time as him for the entire time I have been on staff over the years. He always set precedents in staff -- precedents of behavior, of discussion, of policy. He is probably the most intelligent person I have encountered and TWC is genuinely lucky he choose to devote some of that intelligence to making this site a better place for such a long time.

If his Divus vote in the Curia isn't unanimous, there's something wrong. He may have gotten some over the years for not being the most personable person but that was because he didn't care about popularity. He just got done. It's too bad I don't have a vote on this one.

Whilst I am flattered that Omni Q has put name down as the proposer, in truth it is Omni's motion. Of course, I fully support. As Garb has eloquently pointed out, Sim's contribution are phenominal in almost all areas of TWC. Jack of all trades, master of all!

    Isn't Sim polytheistic?

I think I can't say anything against SIM's monumental work on this site.... and his omnipresence running TWC deserves the highest recognition... take it SIMsie

Did you vote no accidentally then?

Ok it's obvious this is a fairly unanimous one - I was hoping imb would do the write up for Prothalamos as he could do a better job at me than getting across the massive input Sim has had here - instead I shall incorporate your comments and ensure the piece accurately shows what a fantastic job Sim did as an Administrator, amongst his other varying roles over time on the site.

This needs 9/12 CdeC Councillor's to go to Prothalamos. So far 7/12 councillors have voted. Sort it out yeah! I'll PM the missing voters immediately

I voted no as all our Divus's are flawed, and Sim's lack of involvement in the modding community and behind-the-scenes existence merits a proper spanking! A god is a god... I know other persons who did immense things for TWC and will never get Divus

BUT saying that if there was any danger in the vote, or if I saw anyone else was voting no I would have pressed yes...

And lastly I wanted to see who will cheat and peek Q?

Off Topic: Q about "Cosa Nostra" I am holding up for now if you don't mind... Loincloths are fair trade you know.... Shampi Patel can only produce 1 every 2 or 3 months you know - that extra fresh feeling and the distinct smell of lavender even in 40 degree weather is worth it!

I mean could you imagine Halie Satanus or IMB in an ordinary loincloth?

Plus the TWC volunteer fire brigade (incidentally headed by Sim but that is not off topic) is warning me about overcrowding in the secret bath house:
