    Default China Total war suggestions

I want China to be the next installment of total war. Things I have read about what people want in it and what would be unique includes units, maps, armor, etc.

What people didn't mention which I find rather unique is the ridiculous amounts of different martial arts practiced in ancient china. There were hundreds of schools that even had mini wars against each other for supremacy.

I think they should be like a special resource to a specific province like how gold is in Shogun. You capture X province and acquire a praying mantis school. You then can recruit a special praying mantis hero unit as well as ay soldiers recruited n the province get a special bonus related to Mantis style. Something like, X units have a chance to disarm enemies on hit type thing that would be extremely unique and rather tight to see.

The her units would have duels on the battlefield and even cause mini wars with other schools,EVEN SCHOOLS IN YOUR OWN REGION. They would have special tech trees and be like generals except their abilities are in combat instead of command.

Having like 20 or more martial art schools in China total war that serve whoever is in charge of the province yet still act individually when honor is on the line would be so damn cool.

Units would very in combat style just from the province they were recruited in. An example is this.

Shaolin Boxing Monestary. You recruit a spear unit. They come out as Shaolin Spear dancers. Special abilities include things like Chi defense - Units have 3 hit points but 0 armor. Also offensive stuff like, Meditation and tranquility - Immune to fatigue or morale failure, runs 25% faster.

All those changes would happen to units trained in that area just because of the major influences of the master schools in the region.

My personal favorite would probably be drunken swordsmen. Unruly stance - awkward stance that instills confusion in the enemy. Drunken vigor - + 10 defense for a limited time but unable to move. Bringe of the good times - increases units around this unit's morale and discourages the enemy into charging without orders.

Man this would be sweet. Thoughts?

i dont think they are going to make one considering the fact that they just made a TW game based on asia i think the next installment will be ROME 2 TW or Colonial 1800 A.D TW ( with europe, africa and india included ) and that the major consentration of the game is to colonize africa with new civilization includion italy with somalia and netherlands with south africa british with india exetera.

With "mods" he means "Forum Moderators". The proper forum for this topic is, as he correctly points out, http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=331 - I also hope the non Shogun 2 topics are kept out of these forums.

Very cool ideas, although I would change the fatigue and morale immunity to resistance. You dont want over-unrealistic features now do you .

I like the province specific units, it was an awesome feature in the original Medieval total war and really makes you feel good once you have
captured a province where you can recruit specialized units only you can have.

Also the different schools in your province could bargain with you about how much funds are you willing to give them. Making them research
or evolve much faster or slower (Money should also be connected to research in S2TW imo).

They could also combine that with the province happiness, if you used to put thousands of moneys () in one school for a whole decade
to make them powerful and then you stop and put that money in another school the martial artists from the first school could revolt and try to
    take the province from you.

Retraining ordinary units in these provinces could also give them some bonuses ,not as strong as the special units have but like 50% bonus
    the special units get.

Also, like generals used to get better a leading a certain kind of armies (cavalry, infantry etc.) they could get better using school specific armies or
combinations of them and it would work both ways, they could be really bad at leading them and warriors would leave his army like nutrition works now.

    The possibilities are endless

P.S.: You really got me thinking

I've always campaigned for an Orient: Total War.

Sadly a lot of the people that do campaign for some original ideas get drowned out by the Rome 2 crowd. CA simply isn't ready for a Rome 2. Especially not on the current engine. If they are going to return to Rome, they need to do it properly, preferrably in a more distant future when AI kinks have been perfected and we can properly mod binary.

I would truthfully rather see a fresh Sanguo or Zhanguo Total War game that would probably be titled something cooler like "Total War: Emperor" or "Total War: Dynasty".

I mean think about it, passing up on China would be a missed oppurtunity for Creative Assembly. In fact, what better setting to place a Total War game than the home of where the Art of War was written?

On the Sanguo side there was more than 20 factions competing to unify China under their rule. You can probably play as the southern tribes and create a mess like the Ikko-Ikki in Shogun 2 lol. Also the variety of weapons can create a large arsenal of different units. Crossbows, Bows, Pikes, Spears, Halbeards, Cresent blades, Sword and Shield, Sword Cavalry, Spear Cavalry, Bow Cavalry, and even Chariots! The seige weapons can range from catapults, falling stones from the soldiers defending the seige, triple spear launcher, flamethrowers, rams, ladders, and the list goes way farther than that. Variety of units should not be too much of a problem there.

The historical battles section alone can be extremely large. And if you are a great Naval Commander, Chi Bi (Red Cliff) will definitely be your reward. (YES, flaming ships!) Also the great land and seige battles; like Fan Castle, Wu Zhang Plains, Battle of Jing Province and so on.

Campaigns can also be pretty large and interesting. Taking history into your own hands, I would love to see a Sun dynasty for once! Last thing I can see is the amazing Chinese Martial Arts animations when you can see advanced troops (See, there is variety!) kick peasant ass .

That's basically what I can imagine a Chinese Total War would be like, considering the awesomeness of the history in itself.
