    Default Perculiar Problem.

Hey guys, I've got an odd problem and I really can't figure out how to fix it. Any form of help would be appreciated!

I've downloaded CoW 1.4 and the music patch using uTorrent, installed 1.4v but realised that my Kingdoms wasn't patched up to 1.5. So I uninstalled CoW and patched Kingdoms up to 1.5 then re-installed CoW and the sound patch.

I think I've installed them both correctly and I have overridden the sound files in the data folder as shown in a tutorial I watched. But when i go to open CoW I get the DOS screen and then a message saying that it cannot find the disc, I looked to see if there was a disc problem but Kingdoms and The Third Age both run fine...

Was there something else I needed to delete either before or after?

Please help if you can! It's taken me a ages to try and figure it out for myself and I just want to try the flipping mod!

    Regards, Patrick

Unfortunately there are like 12 different ways to install the mod and 4 or so versions out there. Its crazy, its a really good thing this is easily one of the best mods out there or it wouldnt be worth it.

Go ahead and uninstall your COW, you most likely grabbed an older version or followed the Russian install method (which is a wonderful breeding ground for problems)

Get the game from on of these two links, ones the latest torrent, and only involves dragging and droping the folder into you Medieval II mods section once its finished. The other puts together an actual installer that'll do that for you all official like

    Torrent

    Installer

Then follow the quick instructions here

and youll be up and running in no time. Its a hastle I know, but you've got to believe me, ive never played a better mod

Just a question before I attempt to help you further, you don't happen to be the Patman from some obscure Dutch forum\blog do you?

Another question, what version is your Kingdoms install (US, UK, Spanish, German etc.)?
"The only question that remained was whether the founders knew the final result of their creation, or if they themselves where the victims of a misunderstanding.
In the latter case it was the duty of any thinking human, to press himself into the front of this depraved movement, to perhaps still prevent the extreme, in the former case the founders of this peoples disease must have been true devils; for only in the brain of a monster - not of a human - could the plan for an organisation take meaningfull form, whose purpose must lead toward the end result of a collapse of human culture and thus to the desolation of the world.
In this case only battle remained as a means of final delivery, battle with any weapons that the human mind, intellect and will are able to comprehend, regardless, of whom fate would gift with it's blessing."

Check your .bat file and make sure it is looking for the correct folder.

Hey guys, sorry about for the late reply.

THis is what my .bat file is telling me

    del /Q ".\data\text\*.bin"
    del /Q ".\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign\*.rwm"
    cd "..\.."
    start kingdoms.exe @mods\Call_of_Warhammer\warhammer.cfg

These aren't my specialist, do you know what I should have? I downloaded the full thing from http://www.gameupdates.org/details.php?id=4533
    Using BitTorrent
It's still telling me I have the wrong disc inserted...

I'm not sure if you still want or need to install this mod, but seeing as I offered you my help I'll try to make good on that promise.

First make sure you installed the mod into the COW\mods\Call_of_Warhammer folder, it could be that you need to create a "Call_of_Warhammer" folder in the mods folder before installation.

Secondly, make sure you installed the english gold patch (there are non gold versions and numerous other national versions out there that make installing this patch truly confusing).

Lastly, make sure you followed the install instructions to the letter, and if that doesn't work try installing the mod without the 1.0.5 patch.

Greetings from a truly insane Dutchman...
