This is cool as hell; what is the status of adding those stone forts. That seems to me, the most critical thing lacking in any ss submod.

Why not just draw the usable areas bigger instead of leaving the unwanted spaces shown on the map? Less access is better none.

Fezzik: I just want you to feel you're doing well. I hate for people to die embarrassed.
Because I hate how it looks when you have one gigantic piece of continent. Maybe I'll change some things about that, but in that time-frame those areas were not part of any country if I'm not mistaking.
Stone forts will be added. We will have some forts already placed in strategic locations, and we will have buildable permanent stone forts so players can have that freedom of using them in regard of their own tactics. They will be buildable only in own teritory and will cost more.
Great mod, just what I was looking for! What I really wanted was a mod to slow the AI's expansion, especially the Eastern factions and this has done that well so far. Wasn't too bothered about the map changes at first because it seems that Britain (I play England) just gets nerfed while Germany and France get a massive boots but after playing for 30 turns or so I have come to turns with it and the slower expansion will give me a chance to take a larger bite out of Northern France early on before the French get their act together.
However I also love playing with a lot of the features from MSC and I have found I can't do without them! For my own game I was hoping I could use the map from this mod as well as the features that slow expansion while still retaining stuff like 2TPY, Live Long & Prosper, Next Heir and Character Development. I can see why Permanent Watchtowers wouldn't work but can I get those bits working together? I've not modded this game before but I have had a look around the files and can imagine how it works. I've done a clean install of 6.4 and installed MSC 6 (disabled OST) and I have a separate folder with the files for this mod unpacked. I was thinking it would just be a case of copying certain files from this mod and placing them in the data folder but don't know where to start and don't even know if what I want to do is achievable (especially for a noob!).
Any advice would be great. Congrats on the mod as well!
2TPY wouldn't work because it changes the descr_strat.txt file, but you can exclude this file when you install MSC. The other ones might work, but I'm not sure. You can try, and if it doesen't work you can always just recopy the files from this submod.
Hiya.
Been playing as HRE on my first campaign with this mod. Been playing around 40 turns so far and here is what I have noticed:
- England and France just sit around and do nothing. France has quite many big stacks around but they don't bother to take the rebel settlements such as Lyon, Marseille etc. England sits aswell and doesn't move in any direction.
- Scotland tries to take Bruges with two armies as usual.
- Leon Castille doesn't capture any rebel settlements for 40 turns same as Aragon.
- Portugal goes for Silves and fights the Moors quite actively.
- Norway expands in Scandinavia, Denmark sits around doing nothing.
- Poland and Hungary do nothing for 40 turns.
- Kiev conquers lotsa land in the east.
- Lithuania expands north and east.
- Cuman expands west.
- Fatimids declare war to KOJ early on and both fight quite nicely around.
- Byzantines and Turks fight and take settlements very aggressively.
- Seljuks in the east just sit around their water pipes and count the number of camels they have.
Not sure if this is slow or really slow progress by the AI as I am used to much faster expanding AI. I'll see another 40 turns to see if anything new happens. What puzzles me is that England, France, Leon-Castille, Aragon, Hungary and Poland are so passive and haven't taken a single rebel settlement or declared any war in the game.
ABSOLUTELY GREAT MAP THOUGH !
Well it is quite slow. I've played over 100 turns with several factions, and it takes time for some big wars and expansions. But every campaign is different. In some it takes long time for France to expand, in some not so long. In one Denmark progresses very slowly, and in others it takes half of the HRE. Poland also. Same thing with Iberian factions.
For me personaly it's a good thing that wars take some time, as I like to reach gunpowder with the majority of factions still alive.
2 questions:
descr_stat.txt file in that folder replaces it?
is compatible with Permanent Stone Forts 6.3 and Permanent Towers?
please help!!!!
I reinstalled everything in the clean mod but the mod does not start and crash to desktop

It says that something is wrong with descr_engine_skeleton.txt file. I didn't change it, so I have no idea why it's not working.
Try to overwrite it with this one.
The file works, but now when start campaign crash and back to start of the game

Then try to install this submod again, and this time do not copy the descr_strat file. That file was done by somebody else, and I didn't test it.

Just install the submod again without that descr_strat file fix.
I installed without descr_stat and does not work, and I installed with descr_stat file and crash . The descr_stat file is optional? I do not understand exactly what you tell me whether it is necessary only if does not work?

best to just delete the character then
