    Default Castles boiling oil

Hi I have a problem with the boiling oil from castle walls on my game. It does not work in Medieval II Total War but works fine on the extra campaigns Crusades, Brittania etc. How can I fix this? Im playing on ver 1.03

I'm sorry if this has been posted before but I could not find anything.

    Thanks.

Med2 vanilla doesn't have that feature, unfortunately. It's a Kingdoms feature/addition. It was also featured in Rome, but wasn't implemented for Med2.

Recheck how your units peform with retrofit, because it rebalances all the stats to thier kingdoms versions(halberdiers are excelent for example, instead of useless vanilla)
Also the grand unit addon mod(a retrofit sub mod) makes a great addition to the vanilla game(just search name in google)

Usage of boiling oil is a myth. No wonder we don't have such in vanilla.

Are you kidding me? In my town's castle, Lepanto or Nafpaktos as it is called now. over the gates there's something like a box, from which boiling oil was released.

No way, oil was only ever used by the Romans to kill people.

correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the grand unit addon mod requires v 1.05 to work. He said he is running 1.03. So, although I highly recommend the addon mod, make sure to download v 1.05 first

Just don't run under manned gates anymore, forgetting it's going to drop. You've got ~20-30 seconds between drops if memory serves

Basically, once the gates open order your men into the settlement with a move command, not an attack command, otherwise they'll get stuck their the. They'll lose 30 men a drop very 15 seco ss then they rout.
