Default My next campaign and a question

I'm having trouble deciding my next campaign.
I'm thinking between Mongols and Lithuania. Late era.

I would like to be the menace from the east and slaughter all in my path as mongols. I'd use a mix of horse archers and heavy cavalry. I'd focus in lancers instead of horse archers to avoid arrow spam. I want to conquer and slaughter all from the steppes to gates of europe and beyond. None survives. Dread all the way.

    Or

Create legions of Lithuania. Lots of infantry, some archers and only a few heavy cavs. I want to hack down all enemies with just brute force and not just hammer and anvil everyone like I use to. I want to try out how all out infantry armies gain experience and create great infantry commanders.

The question is about heavy infantry armies. Anyone tried them?
I did once with Denmark in some other mod. Lots of huscarls. It usually ended up in a slaughter of my armies too.

Mongols start out with heavily scripted armies, so you go into debt in 3 turns. then you have to find the right amount of units you need to conquer K-shan as fast as possible. no repairing buildings until u get out of the red.

as for your heavy infantry plan, sounds fun but u gonna have hell of a time vs enemy HC. maybe use sacrifical light infantry with loose formation to take the initial cavalry charge then engage with the heavy infantry. still could be one bloody job. don't know if lithuania has spearthrowers u could use those instead of light infantry so they kill some before they get charged.
truthfully i'm a big fan of horses, sometimes i create a fully mounted army to harass the enemy until i finsih him off. just to fun watching his troops dwindle and tired before u bring up the final charge but it gets boring after a while

As mongols I'll just use the few initial armies and take Persia. Delete all the scripted armies since I want to train my own armies instead of getting experienced armies.

As lithuanian I'll use stakes, forrest area, ambush, schiltrom formation backed up by axemen or counter-charging their cavalry with my own few.

Lithuania could play as heavy infantry faction fairly well if you don't use BGR. The later in the campaign you go the other factions get better technology but until after 1400 you won't be outmatched. Baltic spearmen early can kill most early heavy cavalry as long as they don't fully absorb a charge while later Ducal spearmen can do even better. Lithuania does not have quite the heavy infantry strength of the Scandinavians but they have better spearmen and better cavalry. You'll only be using the better spearmen but that should be enough for the most part. You'll definitely have bloodier battles but you can win without much trouble except in a few instances where the enemy has much heavy cavalry or lots of horse archers if you are playing all infantry.

Mongols are quite easy actually. You'll have to disband most of your armies but the Mongol HA are so good that you only need to siege a castle with 3-4 units and you can win the sally almost always. Very late campaign when the armor of especially western armies rise Mongols will start having a bit more issues but that isn't until late 1300s.

I could be wrong, but doesn't England have a superb infantry roster? Excellent archers, heavy swordsmen and lots of anti cavalry units. Heavy billmen and dismounted king's men come to mind.

Considering I just love cavalry armies and I bet you do too, I'd vote for a Lithuanian campaign, just to be different.

I'd do a Mongol campaign, as I love fighting with all-cavalry armies. It is just very handy to have the movement bonus, and be able to charge the enemy army and be almost sure to win. In sieges the enemy will almost always sally, as you have less men, and then they will be utterly crushed outside their walls.
