    Default Teutonic Order Campaign

Hi! I am playing a Teutonic Order campaign, SS 6.4, H/H, BGR II. And i moved rapidly an army, without a leader to Constantinople and seized it. My only provinces now are Constantinople (capital) and Adrianople... but I don't have a leader/heir... general or "family member"... nothing... for about a couple of turns... is this really ok... how can my faction still survive?

p.s. curently making a general unit in Adrianople.

its similar to Papal States that u can survive without Settlements and family members. u might have noticed that even with teutons gone u never get a defeat message for em. not sure what would happen if i assassinate his remaining priests / diplomats/ spies as well. probably due to the fact that teutons only adopt Members from all over Europe instead of having a "ruling" Family

Aaaa... thank you very much for clearing this out
Anyway a general is about to be born... so I can fight off the Byzantines.

Quick question: I am allied with Hungary and they sent an army to take Thessaloniki but I beat them to it. Now why do they still keep for some turns now that army (and even brought another one) near my city... are they waiting for the opportunity to backstab me?

Same thing happened when I was playing with France, took Galway and 3 turns later 2 massive English armies arrived near it... and there they stayed forever... England was my ally and at war with Scotland, so why not use those armies there?

L.E.: Another question: at the moment I only have one general... and no family member... it is possible to stay like this forever? I mean, will I get a new "familly member" this campaign?

Yeah by adopting, men of the hour and the like. Just expand and watch out for the FL. You can also train generals and lead them to battle and chances are good that the game will ask you to adopt them into the family tree if they do well. Provided the game thinks you are in need of new family members.

can't say for sure whats going to happen since i never ran out of ppl that can adopt and haven't played TO with SS yet. usually u adopt someone in your family tree but theres always one of your Members there that does the adopting. i don't know how it works with Order.

normally each member can adopt 4 others

try fighting some battles using the general or not using him and see if u get the chance to adopt someone, or if u are stuck without order members for the rest of the game and can only rely on recruited generals

The AI is dumb. I've seen that kind of thing in TA as well. It never attacks, but it remains by the settlement that got taken by its ally for a long time. Sometimes an army is left behind after a crusade ends and it never goes home.

Having the same problem; got wiped out by Novgorod, Poland, Denmark and Lithuania in about 20 turns, survived despite not having any settlements/generals/family members remaining. Managed to buy Corinth off of Sicily, and have trained a general. Is there a way to edit the save to make him my faction leader? As Alesianduke has indicated, there (understandably) doesn't appear to be an in-game mechanism to adopt new family members without having existing ones.

My Teutonic campaign is on hold now... because without FL i noticed my captains (even with a small force) rebelled after i hit end turn... and with only 2 general, one at Gaza after a crusade, a Jihad called upon Constantinople... all i can do is kind of turtle... became booring.
On a sidenote... maybe you get more family members if you own the original teutonic territories (palanga, riga)... cause i abandoned those right at the start... don't know... it's just an idea

it depends on your original family members u need at least one alive to be able to adopt someone.

Maybe it works like it did in the kingdoms campaign - maybe you need to recruit members?
