After changing the timescale to .5, I get to play for a lot of turns.
In the mean time, my family tree gets cluttered with family members.
Is there any mod or a console command to get rid of selected characters?

I don't know is there such command or something, but why don't you kill them in the battle as FightInTheShade just said...
For more FUN you can field some bowman with pointed sticks and dirrect bodyguards to this sticks![]()
Could use them to your advantage instead of killing them? Give them a couple of spear units and see how far they can make it into an enemy territory. Would probably be more helpful in the long run, but apart from getting them killed by the enemy, I don't think there is an immediate fix.
What's this about changing timescale? How do you do that?

Send them on a "secret mission" to defeat those pesky pirates on a single "unsinkable" ship.
I'd only recommend doing this to freeloaders within your family who really have no hope of making anything of themselves or producing offspring who are any better.
how many turns per year is it by default?
Requescat In Pace
the time scale is 2,00
if you wanna play lets say for 200 turns then you will play 400 years, but this way Generals and Leaders will rule faction and armies for many years.Thats why Generals gets older 1 year per turn(2.00 scale is 2 years) and the game runs every 2 years ,then u will find the strange thing that rules for nearly 110 years, thing strange
i Personally play at scale 0.50 which is the lowest where its turn is 6 months( 0.50 / 1 turns=6 months / 2 turns = 1 year)
with this i dont have problem with age family members problem

1 turn equals 2 years IIRC.
Deus Lo Veult allows you to kill them (I think).
Fear not, crusader, Prester John will save you from the wrath of the Devil.
deus lo vult has a feature that you can move disloyal family members to a city with the faction leader and a dungeon building. there you can imprison or execute them. sadly though the script sometimes brakes and the feature stops working.
the consequence is that many ai factions die out early though because the ai plays more reckless with their lords and it takes forever then to get new lords for the ai as it takes 192 turns for a faction member to grow up

So changing the time scale gives you more turns in the campaign, or it just changes how long a turn is and the campaign is still limited to 200 turns?

Both,
it extend the game to 900 turns with scale 0.50 and the generals dont live and rule for ever...
Edit :the limit is unknown to me but i have play many times with 0.50 but never look at what year stops, this is editable from same section when u change
start_date 1080 summer
end_date 1530 winter
timescale 0.50
The game will end few years later dont know when

Thanks very much for the info.
To be clear, if I want to increase the length of the grand campaign, I set the timescale to .5? (I'm not much worried about the ages of the generals and whatnot)
