Unable to start battle or campaign with Steam

So... Not sure if any of you could be so kind as to help me but I got into the RTW mood again and it got boring... So I resort to hosted mods and I tried this one. Installed fine and everything. Then I get to the launcher. I use steam so I did the steam install too. I try to launch playing as Rome and playing with RTW. But it won't let me. So I tried playing as Rome using RTW:BI and it worked. However when I entered the game I was only able to do Historical Battles and Custom battles. I wanted to try out the battles so I tried a custom battle and when I made up the armies and everything. I clicked go and it went back to the faction selection screen. Then I try clicking go again and this time it won't let me. So I installed fine and everything but when I open it I can't even play. The only thing I can do is sit around in the menu XD
Any help is greatly appreciated! ^

To start a campaign, have a look at the last post of the common issues thread, that should solve.

Also, have you installed the 2.1a patch?

Well I have the patch.
I did look at that last post and when I try to launch with the launcher nothing happened now. Not even with BI.
I tried using launching through the .bat file and it says failed to find steam.

EDIT* ok actually when I start RTW normally through stem I can play the battles but still no campaign T_T

You do have Steam open when you try to launch the game?

Yes it is open. When I set all the preferences I click play and a window pops up asking if I already selected my faction. I click yes and then the window goes away and nothing happens... I try to close out and it won't let me close out, in-fact I can't click anything in the launcher. I have to use Ctrl+Alt+Delete to close the launcher...

THIS IS WHAT I AM GETTING WHEN I TRY TO CLICK PLAY

Should I upload my RTW database folder so you can see it and find out what's wrong? idk I just really wanna play this! haha

Well I guess I don't need to use the launcher... :S
I just use steam properties>Launch options and type in -modlay_Rome (Or whatever faction I want to use)
That seems to work.
