Meh...just a problem

So, I've joined a kind of group of people who are now my friends. My birthdays on the 23rd so they're coming over and sleeping and going to the movies and all that. But today, on msn, one (marcus) came on, and said basically nothing to me. Then another (tom) came on just after marcus left and said that it was marcus. He also said that there were loads of people there (including the group) as a sort of party/get together. And I thought, why wasnt I invited? Why don't I even know about it?

Any advice?

don't dwell on it, if you dwell on it it will actually become a problem.

Hell one of my best friends always managed to miss out on stuff that was going on because we all thought he knew about it or we thought he would be busy or something.

Sometimes you just miss out - its not instantly a coup d'etat

To elaborate by example - You really should avoid neurosis over simple things. For instance i just met one of my room mates' sister wearing a sheepskin rug i had formed a toga out of. I found it fun rather than embaressing. I certainly will not worry about how she took it because the ONLY thing you should ever worry about is whether you have acted in an upstanding manner.

I take it you have tried your best to be a good person with these guys - so don't sweat anything else

its not a big deal, as I understand it you just became thier freind them so they probobly havent warmed up to you yet. Then there is also the strange occurance with some people your age ( not that im much older than you

), they start drinking with their freinds, and when someone new comes along they get nervous that maybe the new guy is really tight when it comes to alcohol. Both things get cured with time. If they generally like you, and you hang out with them, after a while youll be as good a freind as everyone else.

On the average I get left out of 1 of every 3 parties that my friends have, not because they don't want me there but because they: A. Assumed I was busy B. Thought someone told me C. Just plain forgot to invite me or D. Were doing something they think I'm not comfortible with. Moral of the sotry, don't sweat it, so long as they're still talking to you the chances are that theres nothing sinister behind it.
