'Gentile sperm leads to barbaric offspring'

Rabbi Dov Lior says Jewish Law prohibits sterile couples from conceiving using non-Jew's sperm, as it causes adverse traits. On subject of single mothers he says, 'Child cannot be 100% normal' Kobi Nahshoni Published: 01.12.11,

Rabbi Dov Lior, a senior authority on Jewish law in the Religious Zionism movement, asserted recently that a Jewish woman should never get pregnant using sperm donated by a non-Jewish man – even if it is the last option available.

According to Lior, a baby born through such an insemination will have the "negative genetic traits that characterize non-Jews." Instead, he advised sterile couples to adopt.

    Sensitive Issue

Lior addressed the issue during a women's health conference held recently at the Puah Institute, a fertility clinic. His conservative stance negated a ruling widely accepted by rabbis, which states that sperm donated by a non-Jew is preferable to that of an anonymous Jew, who might pose a genealogical risk.

"Sefer HaChinuch (a book of Jewish law) states that the character traits of the father pass on to the son," he said in the lecture. "If the father in not Jewish, what character traits could he have? Traits of cruelty, of barbarism! These are not traits that characterize the people of Israel."

Lior added identified Jews as merciful, shy and charitable – qualities that he claimed could be inherited. "A person born to Jewish parents, even if they weren't raised on the Torah – there are things that are passed on (to him) in the blood, it's genetic," he explained. "If the father is a gentile, then the child is deprived of these things.

"I even read in books that sometimes the crime, the difficult traits, the bitterness – a child that comes from these traits, it's no surprise that he won't have the qualities that characterize the people of Israel," he added.

'Kids born to single moms become criminals'

Lior condemned artificial insemination and sperm donation in general, saying that they lead to waste of sperm, unclear genealogy and other Jewish law offenses. He warned against undergoing intrauterine insemination at hospitals, where the workers may mix sperm samples for one reason or another - a major halachic violation.

On the subject of women who freeze their eggs to use at a later date, the rabbi asserted that instead they should concentrate their efforts on getting married younger.

"Our public has been influenced by a part of the Western culture in which every woman, instead of becoming a mother, needs to get a Masters Degree," he lamented. "The role of women – child rearing – is not less important than an academic degree." Lior noted that there is nothing wrong with attaining a profession, but it should not be a priority.

Moreover, the rabbi spoke against single women getting pregnant.

"We can understand the desire of every woman to have a child, but according to our Torah it is impossible to address the demand of a certain woman when it can cause someone else suffering," he said.

"If a child is born without a father, he cannot be 100% normal." He stated that rabbinical literature defines these kids as "criminals and subjects of other negative phenomena."

This man is a leading authority in Israel on Jewish law and he is not the first to come out with outrageous comments about non Jews. Recently these people have said - 1) That Gentile are non humans who exist to serve Jews 2) That gentiles exist to donate organs to Jews who need them 3) That it is permissible to kill a non Jew who does not support Israel and 4) That Jews should never rent or sell a property to a non-Jew....
Im glad this guy got arrested and i salute Israeli law for standing up to these Racist Rabbis

    Love the irony in this.

Replace the term Gentile with Untermenschen. Sounds familiar?

Leading rabbis have testified that Lior was the source of rulings labeling the late Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin a "rodef" and a "moser" (a traitor who endangers Jewish lives ). Rabin's assassin used to travel to Hebron to see the rabbi. Baruch Goldstein (who massacred Arabs at the Cave of the Patriarchs in 1994 ) also visited Lior for instruction. After he massacred dozens of people, the rabbi ruled that Goldstein was "holier than all the martyrs of the Holocaust."[7]
Menachem Livni, who was convicted of murders, headed a terror organization dubbed the "Jewish underground." He testified that the spirit behind the underground was Lior - and not just for his preaching and religious rulings regarding the need to murder Arabs or killing "innocent people." Lior, according to the testimony of the murderer, was involved in the details and decided how and when they would act. Lior pressured the hesitant perpetrators to blow up six buses with all their Palestinian passengers. The buses were loaded with explosives with the object of killing hundreds. Only the delay enabled the Shin Bet security service to arrest them at the last minute. [8]
In June 2011 Lior was arrested by Israeli police and questioned on suspicion of inciting violence. Lior had been summoned for questioning by authorities, but refused to appear. Spontaneous demonstrations erupted in and around Jerusalem as outraged supporters assembled in various parts of the city and on Route 1 to protest Lior's arrest. Israeli chief rabbis Yona Metzger and Shlomo Amar condemned the arrest as a "grave offense to an important rabbi's honor," and 25 Members of Knesset signed a petition denouncing it as "shameful" and as having been orchestrated by Deputy State Prosecutor Shai Nitzan. Lior was released after an hour of questioning.[9][10]
Both opposition leader Tzipi Livni and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called for a full judicial investigation of Lior's remarks, but neither direct condemned their content. According to a 29 June 2011 report by Haaretz, each demanded that the full rule of law be exercised in the case [11].

Israel is indeed based upon the superiority of the Jewish "Race" ... Jews barely even accept that its a religion, not an ethnicity, there are more similarities between russian jews and russians than with russian jews and yemen jews.. .

    Dov Lior has odd ideas.

What I like is his wish that a good person should be merciful, shy and charitable, that's something to start with, isn't it?

Understatement of the day. What are you talking about? That man is utterly deranged! God, that article depressed me. Damn.

On-topic: That Rabbi is clearly vile and kudos to the Israelis for doing at least something about his actions.

“We humans do not understand compassion. In each moment of our lives, we betray it. Aye, we know of its worth, yet in knowing we then attach to it a value, we guard the giving of it, believing it must be earned, T’lan Imass. Compassion is priceless in the truest sense of the word. It must be given freely. In abundance.”

Hundreds in Jerusalem protest the arrest of senior rabbis

Two top rabbis briefly detained for questioning for their endorsement of book which justifies killing of non-Jews; Rabbi Dov Lior, chief rabbi of Kiryat Arba, says arrests have awakened rightist activists.

Hundreds of people gathered in front of the Supreme Court in Jerusalem on Monday night for a mass protest against the arrests of senior rabbis who were briefly detained for incitement after they endorsed a religious tract justifying the killing of non-Jews.
Hundreds of police officers were stationed around the Supreme Court in Jerusalem on Monday in preparation for potentially violent protests.

Two senior rabbis who had endorsed the book "Torat Hamelech" (The King's Torah), which among other things preaches in favor of killing Arab infants, Rabbi Dov Lior and Rabbi Yaakov Yosef, the son of Shas spiritual leader Ovadia Yosef, were shortly detained for questioning in recent days. The two spoke at the rally, along with some twenty senior leaders in religious Zionism at the event dubbed "In honor of the Torah."
"We need to thank those responsible for the arrests, otherwise we would still be sleeping," Rabbi Dov Lior said during the rally, explaining that his arrest had awakened rightist activists.
The protesters at the rally are rabbis and yeshiva students, some of which stress they do not condone the book "Torat Hamelech", but oppose the humiliation of rabbis and the Torah.
On Sunday, hundreds rallied in Jerusalem after Rabbi Yaakov Yosef was briefly arrested and questioned on his endorsement of the religious tract.

It becomes an issue when the government issues a policy strictly promoting inter-jewish marriage and coupling , etc,

    Its basically lebensborn

It is a symptom not the cause or one of them. There has something gone wrong in the last decades.

Adam is right. What are you trying to say with that?
Yes, orthodox Jews are ing up our politics. But that's okay, we are a really young country. It's always like that in the beginning. The US took 170 years to separate religion and state. Hell, most countries still ARE connecting religion with state, and they are like hundreds of years old!

Give Israel a little break, with each day that passes by, Israel is becoming less and less legally connected to the Jewish religion (which is excellent if you ask me).

There is too much ideology on Reader's Digest niveau around. It is unfortunate that the outer conditions are not favorable to come back on what one has been once.

The problem is that the entire premise is based upon a religious identity. A state for Jews, it reeks of theocratic inclinations and bias towards a certain religion/people.

The problem is the absence of peace, and the taking possession of the mind by the war. A result can be intolerance and that's, I think, where odd inhuman ideas people have sometimes, come from.

I don't know which country you come from, nor where you went to school, but the premise is completley legit. Check the definition of nationality, Israel answers each and every one of the needed conditions to be considered a nationality.
Also if you want to ban Israel just because it's preserving the Jewish identity, why not ban Japan on the same grounds? And Armenia? And a dozen other countries?
