Default My new metal Blog, for current and new metal listener's!

Hey Guys! I'd like to share my new metal blog with everybody. Spent countless hours doing research for every band I have listed and then putting the site together. Everyday I'll update the blog with 1 MP3 randomly chosen out of my listen of 10'000 metal songs.

Right now I'm in the works of creating a "Gateway Drugs" page. The page will be dedicated to helping you see the light (metal) from today's current stagnant music scene. The blog mostly consists of Melodic/Doom/Folk/Metalcore metal right now, there's some great bands on there right now.

Anyways! If you're new to metal you can check out the Gateway Drugs page to get started on understanding what exactly your listening to.

Thanks, enjoy! any criticism(nice and bad) is nice too

I'm not a fan of Slayer personally, they are good - I could just never get into them.

Nobody can match Brenocide and his gang . Nor that black metal elitist .
Oh and metalcore is not metal .

It's no That's Not Metal but I like it.
That's hilarious, I often feel elitist when I hear someone likes Generic rock band X or rap artist X.

Nice blog, I see you haven't listened extensively to most of them (Scar Symmetry, hint hint).
And you're trying to define every band's vocal style. It's quite inaccurate, and therefore giving an impression that this is the most crucial part of every band. Try to write small reviews/opinions on your most favourite/liked album of every band. At least this is my opinion. Artwork and lyrics also add an additional atmosphere to music.

That's a great idea, and alot of work, I'll most definitively do that over the next few days. Artwork and then I'm going to finetune the descriptions.

Edit: Also changed the background color, I find it contrasts alot better now!

I'm pretty sure you have listened to a lot of albums already, so try to write about those in your blog first, this is the most logical and rational way, IMO.

Metalcore bands with more metal than core (Trivium, As I Lay Dying, etc) are metal. Bands with more core than metal (BMTH, BFMV, etc) aren't metal.

At least that's how I always saw it.

That's a great philosophy, I'll have to admit however that BFMV has 1 or 2 decent songs, I hope that doesn't destroy my credibility ;p

^ this is what I think when Picture metalcore

Not trying to be different, I've never read any other metal blogs. This is just a place to consolidate all the music I like! If you have any suggestions just let me know.

Go to a Bring Me The Horizon and a Bullet show and you'll see how metal they are, especially with Bullet it's just the lyrics that make them seem whiny and emo. At Wembley in December Bullet had the most violent mosh pit i'd ever seen (especially with songs like Begging for Mercy, and Turn to Despair), and BMTH got pulled off because the crowd was too moshy. Well not pulled off but they cut the electricity, and kicked the band out of the stadium afterwards when they trashed the stage.

Trivium are just god awful, worse than Godsmack (I know that's harsh but it's true, which is a shame because they're talented people)
As I Lay Dying have gone downhill recently.

I saw BFMV at Mayhem Fest back in '09. They sounded more like Senses Fail-ish screamo than metal.

I like Trivium's Ascendency and AILD's An Ocean Between US. I don't listen to either band regularly, they were just examples.

Blog would be better if it had more black metal.
