Default Thinking of starting a new campaign...

Hey guys, i was thinking of starting a new campaign and i have a few questions, but first of my installation setup:

1)SS 6.4(with grim reality and real recruitment)
    2)The submod compilation

    The questions are:
1)I'm thinking of starting it on VH/VH, but i was wondering if the AI gets unfair advantages such as infinite money and armies out of nowhere on very hard campaign difficulty, or gets huge morale advatanges in battles.
2)I usually play as the byzantines and one thing that always irked me is that most of their units have those beautiful shield designs and their hallmark unit, the skoutatoi, have this ugly pinstripe shield. Is there any mod that changes that.

    Pretty much this.

The AI will get money bonus but its not infinite and if you win a few battles you will see the AI has less armies however the initial part of a war will usually be significantly tougher than if you play on Normal unless you attack from the sea or the AI is heavily distracted on another front. The CAI you select will also make a difference. Depending on how you play the game Gracul is usually the hardest of the easiest.

The AI does get a decent morale bonus- enough to make flanking and rear attacks essential for routing all but the lowest tier units. Elite units will require high losses or death of a general to rout in most situations. Of course fire arrows and artillery/handguns change this a bit but not too much.

I haven't seen any mods that give the Scoutati different shields but there might be one out there.

The Byzantine roster is historically realistic.

I know it is, i just wanted to know if there is a way to change their shield textures.

Also is there a guide for adding units to factions??

Best place to learn about stuff like that is the Mod Workshop - it already has a bunch of excellent tutorials for you.
