How fast can you beat the european campaign?

I recently started playing NTW and have completed all the Napoleon campaigns on hard. After finding both the Italian and Egyptian campaigns a little too easy, I expected the game to start getting harder in the European campaign. However the campaign was not quite what I had expected. Just as I got my final barracks constructed the game was over and France had won. I claimed victory in 72 turns and never autoresolved any of the battles. This probably contributed to my quick victory as I have found if you autoresolve a lot of battles then campaigns can take longer. Playing on VH difficulty as Great Britain before it took me just over 100 turns to complete when autoresolving half the battles. When I play battles myself the only time I ever lose if I get ambushed in the woods.

But going back to Napoleons European campaign I would have expected the war against the coalition to take me much longer to win. Great Britain were far too passive in the campaign and failed to help their allies enough. In 72 turns they made only 3 naval invasions against me around the low countries and were easily beaten back into the sea each time. Also their navy only attacked 1 of my french ports and they never tried to raid my trade routes for the entire game, that was most disappointing that I had no need for a navy. Russia only sent the very occasional armies to assist their allies Austria. Overall Russia was weak and in the end it was very easy to take regions off them and march onto Moscow. I think it only took me about 10 turns to get from Warsaw to Moscow. That was my experince of the France campaign anyway. It started off with so much promise but the AI proved too easy in the end. I've tried to play online campaigns as well but Steam keeps disconnecting me so I'm stuck with singleplayer for the moment.

As France, I hadn't finished a full campaign. I marched straight from Paris through Austria, through Russia, and into Moscow in about 50 turns - way too easy. I got bored instead of going for the victory regions I just quit.

The only time I actually tried winning (going for all victory regions instead of doing what I want) was as Great Britain. I took control of the entire map (besides my protectorates). I mean, I literally controlled every city besides the protectorates. I finished in like late March 1810..

Completed all the factions on Normal and Hard in just a few game years. I honestly did not keep track of the turns for each, but they were less than half the time required. I've not played any Napoleon in quite some time since then. Thought about trying very hard but could not work up any enthusiasm for it. Went back to playing Rome, Med II (with Retro Mod) and Empire on the TW games series, plus some others.

Time off is time well spent, wherever it is!

Seriously whats the point of beating the game in the least amount of turns, if anything i draw the game out to make it take longer so i can have more large land and naval battles.

Yeah indeed. i only beated the europe campaign on easy before i stopped playing, and you get way more stacks send to you then in empire on easy, so when i have the time i look forward to playing it on hard ( i already did that with italian and egypt campaign)

damn i was just about to post a topic about this. Damn you complete campaigns fast but then again I am Prussia on VH/N and i seem to be steamrolling a long

Ditto, my game never ends.

If you want a real challenge, play as Prussia or Austria in ETW and declare war on EVERYONE, VH/VH, it's near impossible because your economy collapses and the German region is a political timebomb. Otherwise, everything is easy enough with time.

I agree, Prussia and Austria are the most challenging campaigns on very hard, i couldn't succed with Prussia in VH (the Russians and the French come became quite an nuisance) so i had to go for Hard, the same with Austria, but didn't tried VH just because i thought it would be as tough as with Prussia. I will go back and play Prussia and Austria in VH to see how i go. One thing thou, this is a NTW thread so why mention ETW?

EDIT: It turned out to be easier to win with Austria the campaign than Prussia, mainly because the armies are not so scattered like Prussia and the generals are much decent than Prussia's.

He was complaining about how easy the NTW campaign was and people mentioned playing previous games for a challenge. Austria is the easier of the two in my opinion though, they have more regions and larger armies. Although, Prussian line infantry is ridiculous in the later game. Its more like a slaughterhouse than a fight (unless you fight Britain). Oh well, time to go win some battles!

My quickest coalition game (as Britain) was 72 turns, and my quickest Napoleon campaign was 41 turns.

Play the campaign on Very Hard and search for a drop-in battle partner whenever the game gives you the opportunity (i.e., when odds are not too one-sided). You'll see quite a different experience

Download a mod (darthmod on vh/vh is nigh impossible ) If you want to play vanilla don't rush, and play historically accurately; i.e. don't get other nations to fight allies, don't rush their capitals, don't spam armies, et al.

under 10 turns, easily. on account of how terrible the ai is. my little band of brothers can decimate multiple full enemy stacks without taking much loss.

LME 1805 Campaign, had Europe under my power by 1809. Britian was a bit of a mess, the fight for that took 6 months when they got aggressive and decided they would meet me halfway @ Edinburgh as I stormed up from and over from Dublin. It also didn't help that all the battles in the campaign were drop-ins with clanmates controlling.

I managed to capture entire map in only 20 turns. It was quite a challenge.

ehh.... even on very easy very easy....Not possible sorry. Either way all the people who say they beat it really fast; congratulations I guess? I take my time to increase enjoyment of the game. Of course you can beat it; it's AI. Play with house rules, try to add realism, don't knock other factions out of the game so fast. Way more fun
