PDER - stainless steel

i saw, that stainless steel has be faaaaar the most post in his thread, meaning the biggest fan community of all mods (except the fantasy stuff), but is it only a mainstream stuff?

Is pder better? i want to restart playing medieval, but ican not decide which mod to install and i dont want to install and reinstall 3-4 times and try differnt mods, i want to best and most realistic, strategic gamplay mod out there. which means, good economic etc. system, less armies, no spamming fights, but less and deceisive battles etc., its quality that i seek not quantity. Stainless steel looks to me (just from reading posts) like a super beatiful package, but empty inside.

please help me.
