Hidden Family Trees

Anyone know if there is a way to view the other family trees apart from the one the FL is part of?

Make one of the family members (of the tree you're curious about) the heir of your faction
kill your king
the mysterious family becomes the royal dynasty, and you can view him in the family tree in game.

Pretty cruel.

Just wondering, how can you make a family member from ANOTHER faction a faction leader because I always need a family member from my OWN family tree to be a faction heir

You are missreading his statement. This is concerning factions with multiple family trees (in one faction). Any in this situation tree can become the dominant one if the faction leader is of said tree. If you want to manage your family tree better try Next Heir Ancillary -NHA- (Setting Next Heir)

Apart from that there is no easy switching between them (you will never be able to see the one the FL is not part of, which I misinterpreted in your post).
Watching the faction announcements should help you to stay in the picture.

Most family members have their surnames ingame listed though. If the new family tree isn't from the beginning of the game, you can always check descr_start.
