Unspecified Error

Ok, first i know this has been talked about a ton. I've read practically every thread relating to this problem but I haven't had anything work yet....


My game works fine except one area. When ever I go to start a battle, I can auto resolve or withdraw fine. If I choose to fight the battle myself, it loads into the battle, then one of a few things occurs.

1)- I click start deployment/wait and I receive the unspecified error
2)- I click start deployment and I can deploy my troops but when I click start battle, i get the unspecified error
3)- The battle works completely fine and I encounter no problems and I destroy the other army.

I have never crashed in a battle or at any other time. only when starting or deploying for battle.

I am playing on The Third Age mod. I downloaded the game through Steam. I have deleted the two files. I have re installed every driver on my PC. I have uninstalled and re installed like several hundred times. I've cleaned the reg. I've completely deleted every trace of the game aside from saves.


I have no clue what to to. Any help ( I literally mean any idea that might work) is welcome and I will try it. I will do anything to get this to work (read: no idea is ridiculous).

Walk me through step-by-step on how you installed the mod. By going through the installation process, we may be able to detect any errors that could be causing your CTDs.

I'm assuming you followed the directions for Steam users? (As you mentioned you run the mod through Steam.)

Do you have any sub-mods installed?

Non that aren't in TATW. I redid the steam tool and Now the error appears less but it still appears.

Is the Third Age mod stable enough to play, or are the errors too frequent to get a decent amount of "play time in"?
