Invasio Barbarorum..where to start?

Hello,

I'm a bit new to this community, and not having followed this mod I'm lost. I have all of the Total Wars from Rome on up through Shogun 2 (I cannot find my disks for the original medieval and shogun games ).

So, what are the recommendations for getting involved with this mod? I would like to download the Rome Total War version, preferably one that is compatible with the Steam Gold version. There's several campaigns that I see, but I don't know if I need a base mod first or if there stand alone. Any recommendations and help would be greatly appreciated!

Well you need first a copy of Rome Total War: Barbarian Invasion v1.6. From there you need to choose what you are looking for in the mod. The individual forums can show this better.

Welcome to the IB forum, Derrius . As FA stated, you'll need the Barbarian Invasion expansion pack installed and patched to 1.6 to play the IB mods. If I'm not wrong you can find instructions on how to install the mods into RTW/BI steam version in the IBFD forum. You don't need to have one particular mod installed to play them as they are stand-alone mods. Try all of them and see what mod is the most suited for you .

The simplest to start with would be IBFD 7.03, as it's closest to vanilla.

Well, I have myself a copy of Rome Gold and Alexander, so I should be good to go with the expansion. Thanks for the suggestions!

Cocroach, how is Ages of Darkness 2? Is that for Rome or another TW game?

Ages of Darkness II is for ROme TW BI v1.6 but is not released yet.
