I've been thinking on the techtree for some time, and i reached this result:
here are short explainations of each idea:
Spirit of 1914 / Burgfrieden / Union Sacrée : That's the fact that a wide majority of people went to war happily and hopefull. This tech would improve the moral of soldiers and national pride.
Nationalist propaganda : increases National Pride if possible, else increases moral
New uniforms : change of skin (or new units) and increases morale
Machinegun : unlock MGs units
Mobilization : when reached, this tech gives some extra units (thx to scripting.lua)
Bulkhead : new boats, more upkeep, more hull's hp
War effort : improves economy, increases war weariness (or request for progress)
Attrition warfare : allows troops to use trenches, increases morale, new units (trenches mortar) AND: reduces movement points of the armies up to 50%
Submarine warfare : allows submarines
War bonds : improves economy, increases war weariness (or request for progress)
Militarization of the production : improves economy, increases war weariness (or request for progress)
Rationing : improves economy, increases war weariness (or request for progress)
War Scientism : allows new schools, boosts tech research
Censorship : increases National Pride and troops morale
Purge of HQs : increases troops morale , bonuses to generals traits
Improvement of the defensive technics : increases troops morale and if possible, adds some protection for units
Chemical warfare : unlocks gaz shells
Anti-submarine warfare : increases hulls hp and trade ('cause traffic is more secured)
Scientific management : improves industry
Agricultural cooperatives : improves agriculture
Improvement of soldiers conditions : increases troops moral , increases war weariness (or request for progress), unit replenishment
Electrification of the economy : improves economy (industry, mining, agriculture)
Women's rights : improves economy, increases war weariness (or request for progress)
Stormtroopers : unlocks stormtroopers and stosstruppen
Logistics motorization : improves unit replenishment rate
Military aircrafts : boosts spies' ability to murder and sabote
Planned economy or : Foreign Direct Investment : improves industry, increases war weariness (or request for progress),
Rural communities or*: consolidation of parcels : improves agriculture, increases war weariness (or request for progress),
Seaplane : increases ship's strength against uboot
Pesticides : improves agriculture
there are more to find but it's only to complete what already exists.
Now you probably wonder why there are so much techs influencing war weariness (or request for progress) and national pride (and why there should be more)
My point is that in the first months of 1914, everybody is happy to go to war but from winter 1914 to the end of the war soldiers' and nation's morale is all the way down.
At the same time, science and society are progressing very very fast, and peoples of Europe change radically in only 4 years.
The aim of the game would be also to win outside against enemies aswell as against inside against war weariness and request for progress. Nations which couldnt would have some revolutions by socialists or communists rebels.
We could also switch religion with some economical system (liberal or socialist ie)
And i'm volunteer to help scripting and modifying db file
