Default What's their beef with Aragon?

Playing VH/VH with Big Gryms Reality IV. Allied with Leon, Genova and France.

Just been building up my little empire, took over some rebel settlements, but only have four territories. Out of the blue the Seljuk Turk's blockade one of my ports, thus declaring war, and then disappear the next turn and I never hear from them again.

Shortly afterwards Novagarod does the same. Just recently England did it as well.

My faction is known as "reliable" and hasn't really been involved in conflicts outside out of rebel settlements.

I guess I can understand England, since I'm allied with France. But what would possess the Seljuks to come all the way across "the world" to declare war, and the same with Novagarod???

Had a similar problem with crusader states where Russia builded a ship with warp drive/teleportation and blocked my port on turn 3 .

I'm Sicily in an epic freaking war with Aragon who owns a large portion of Europe and a lot of the North African coast. Piss on Aragon. Right now (around 1150) they are trying to take Toulouse... They continually break armies of 1500 against my walls--I think they've sent 5 now. My feeble empire needs a rest. I have no sympathy for Aragon. How did they get so huge so quickly?
The law spoke too softly to be heard amidst the din of arms.

In my last game as England the Moorish armies swept through the spanish penninsula, wiping out portugal, leon and aragon without much difficulty.

That's why I played Aragon this time, to try and hold them in check this time (I did make use of my reputation with the pope to apply crusade pressure)

The moors now bend the knee as vassals to genoa. Aragon I believe has to wipe out Sicily as one of their victory conditions.

This used to happen on me in Rome as well, but I've never noticed such a thing in M2TW. They only blockade me when their faction is near enough to also invade. On the other hand, I tend to avoid VH.

There must be some setting on the AI that leads to this... or it might just be position. Some campaigns it never happens at all- other campaigns it happens all the time. There doesn't not seem much inbetween. If it happens once I can expect more. If it doesn't happen very early it probably never will.
