windows live account blocked

We all got the notice about TWC being hacked, and because i use the same password for my hotmail, i wanted to change it. but there it went wrong. I had forgotten my security question (favourite historical figure), and it sended my through to a form where i had to fill in specifications about my account: previous passwords, contact persons,...

Problem is that i don't use my hotmail often (i mainly use gmail for contact persons), so i couldn't fill in much, which resulted in getting a mail that said that "we couldnt verify the ownership with the information you provided", and the pincode i got didnt worked. I later tried verifying again with another verification email adrees (my emailadrees from university), but i even didnt get answer on that one. the account is blocked because there has been too many times a wrong password used.

problem is that i use my hotmail for non-personal stuff: facebook, steam, TWC, sega,.....

I opened a topic in windows solution center (from a different msn/hotmail adress), but the only answer there has been so far is from some cretin who said "i have that too", which doesnt help me. I did it in my own language and english

my questions to TWC:

-is there another way to acces my account (i guess there isn't)
- has anyone had the same problem, if yes, how did you solve it
- has anyone used windows live support center before? how long does it take to help you. i've tried to reset my password saturday, and made the topic monday morning
- is there an emailaddres/helpdesk outside that support center, where i maybe get a real person to talk/mail me. Not some automated emails. just checking the IP-adresses could be enough i would think.

You could try calling microsoft? I'm sure this happens a lot.

Try the top two links from here, and any other ones that seem fit.

well calling immediatly seems a bit drastic, besides, i have a very bad experience with phone calls to another country. When i had problems with orders from thehut.com, they provided like 3 phone numbers, none of which were usefull. i always got "this number is out of use/ not in use"

i found a phone number for belgium, but that weirdly has the international code for belgium (0032) in front of it. im looking around for other belgian numbers, but so far not a real helpdesk

but its a good tip, if all the rest fails ill tr calling

EDIT: oh yeah i tried through the microsoft.be site, bt either it sends me to the windows live solution center, or it says "helpcentre has technical difficulties and we cant process your request".

so far i've had 4 replies from windows live (and from 3 different moderators, one guy handling my request would be much more productive), and they are

ing useless. they start by saying: fill in a new form. only i never get reply on that form. next answer: acecs the private forum with the pincode: well yeah i dont have the pincode thats why i want to fill in a new form. damn morons

I just went through the same process for different reasons and I guarantee it shouldn't be asking for previous passwords or contacts. Are you sure you were directed to the correct hotmail help page?

yeah you get it when you dont know your secret question anymore, its almost on the same page as where you log in. you got the choice,direct help from a staff member or filling in a form. i should have gone for direct help

i dont have the option anymore, the only thing i can do is hope they finally understand the problem and do something about it

Had the same happening to me and my brother.
I recovered my account because it was linked with another email and had the code or something to unclock it.
My brother had no other email linked to his so he had to make a ticket just like you did, in the end, after like 4 tickets they

ing blocked his account because " they didn't have enough information to unlock it".

i have the same problem now, "they have finished their investigation", and there is not enough information. i need the acces, cause a lot of info is in that account (fb, steam,...)

how did it resolve for your brother? I've i can find a complain form anywhere im gonna use it also

There's a limit for tickets, after 5 of them (not really sure about the effective number since it happened a month ago) you can't send anymore, they permanently block the account.
Basically they told him to go

his self and make a new account, which is what he did.
The only sensitive thing linked to his email is his psn's account, which still works.

Yeah im getting the impression too they are saying that.
No way im gonna make a new account, if the help service is like that. Ive already changd most of my contact emails, only totalwar.com (which is down) and steam remain. trouble is for steam you need a code they send you. ive filled in a support ticket. now hopefully steam has some smarter employees
